Who was ‘El Mencho,’ the feared cartel leader killed in a military operation?

Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes was a feared Mexican drug lord and the leader of a ruthless cartel accused of masterminding efforts to push fentanyl into the United States.

Once a police officer, Oseguera went on to become one of the world’s most wanted fugitives, with the United States alone offering a $15 million bounty for information leading to his arrest.

Oseguera, who formed and led the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was an elusive figure who had been considered Mexico’s most powerful cartel boss since Sinaloa kingpin Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was arrested last decade.

Born in July 1966 in the western state of Michoacán, Oseguera later moved to the US and was deeply involved in drug trafficking from the 1990s, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). In 1994, he was convicted in California for conspiracy to distribute heroin and served three years in a US prison.

After he returned to Mexico, he worked as a police officer in the western state of Jalisco but soon resumed his criminal activities, building his influence in the shadowy world of narcotics and rising to become the head of one of the country’s most powerful and ruthless criminal empires.

There's more panic on the way for someone down there - I've been watching US military assets entering Mexican airspace this morning.

Our southern border.

And we all in this valley can sit and watch the drug raids weekly if not daily.

Most of it on the highway going to Las Vegas in this corridor.

Main corridors are established in each state. This states corridor is through Tucson primarily and also up through Yuma to a lessor extent. They use the gaps in the “wall” at the Indian reservations. They use those reservations as a staging point lots of the time.

And the primary drug is now fentanyl. Not from Venezuela. From MEXICO. Has been for some time. Cocaine is secondary. That comes up from Columbia.

They now are starting to use the northern border more. Cross there, and distribute it.

And if anyone is foolish enough to think that the CJNG is thee ONLY cartel, they are ignorant.
And BTW. The Los Zetas are even more ruthless than the rest.

Our southern border.

EXACTLY.

Odd how a serial thread poster on FR would call it YOUR Southern border.

Almost as if they’re not even located in the USofA!

I took it that he was referring to YOUR, state border.

Although it is our national border.

BTW, IF they investigate this correctly, they’ll find some customs agents at the border crossing are on the take as well as local police.

The border crossings need to be handled by the military.

And, there are some on here that seem to oppose military action into Mexico by us.
Why is that?
