Former Illinois governor slams Pritzker for ‘malpractice’ as Bears look to flee to red state

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich argued Gov. JB Pritzker got "outplayed and outflanked" as the Chicago Bears look to leave the state for Indiana.

On Thursday, an Indiana House panel approved legislation to help finance a potential new NFL stadium for the team. The facility could be constructed near Wolf Lake in Hammond, Indiana, just across the state border.

"The Indiana legislature did what it did, and it caught our governor asleep," Blagojevich said Saturday on "Fox & Friends Weekend."

"Governor Pritzker really is guilty of gubernatorial malpractice, and this isn't the first time a major business is about to leave Illinois," he added.

Blagojevich blamed the blue state's high taxes as a reason the team may be considering the move, noting other major companies like Boeing and Tyson Foods that have already left.

"He [Pritzker] spent $3 billion on illegal immigrants, migrants, and apparently doesn't have the money or has paid the attention to try to keep the Bears in Illinois," he said.

I’m sure i’m missing something with all of this. Is all this consternation about how the Bears might move to nearby Indiana? What’s up with that? Doesn’t Illinois come out ahead financially? If they’re not having to spend billions subsidizing a new stadium for the Bears?

The Dindus and Furrymom will be angered at the loss of easy white victims.

Solzhenitsyn noted how blue is the official color of the totalitarian uniform.

Trump looks better in red. Red is known as the "power color'.

Ancient Romans and Imperial Britain both used red.

It’s in Miami-Dade County, but the city is Miami Springs, it’s basically Miami but unlike the old Orange Bowl where the Dolphins used to play was actually in Miami.

If you fly into Miami for a game, I’m pretty sure the stadium is closer to the Fort Lauderdale Airport, I flew down to Fort Lauderdale for the Orange Bowl one year and it was far easier to fly into to Fort Lauderdale.

It’s not a big deal either way, all I was doing is saying the Bears moving into a stadium in Indiana is not the end of the world, a number of other teams are doing the same thing.

The site of the Orange Bowl is now the Marlins Stadium.

The Orange Bowl was maybe the most iconic stadium in the country, I miss it.

He went to prison for gubernatorial malpractice, so he knows what he's talking about.

There is a backstory as there always is in the most corrupt state in the union.

Blago was being investigated by the Feds which as we have come to know lean Democrat.

The investigation was being "slow-walked" as the guys like Tricky Dicky Durbin wanted it that way.

Very convenient for Democrats do not like contested primaries and like for political elite to basically pick the successor.

But Blago forced their hand.

Blago did what has been done for decades which was try to political horse trade and sell the appointment to Barry Soetoro's seat to the highest bidder.

Politics as usual in most states but just a bit more down and dirty in Illinois.

The problem for the feds was not that Blago was selling who they planned to indict anyway, the problem was who was buying?

As far as I can tell BUYING a senate seat is as big a crime as selling as senate seat.

Who were the likely buyers?

Well if you guessed Fat Boy Prickster you would have been on the right track.

The Feds were forced into indicting Blago before they had a recording of someone making Blago an offer he couldn't refuse.

I’ve been to a few games at the old Joe Robbie Stadium, which I think was torn down. Is Hard Rock Stadium at the same location as the old Joe Robbie Stadium? It was near the county line with Broward County.

Sales tax is a flat 7% in Indiana (only 4% when I was a kid). Illinois is almost 9% and in some places 11% after the locals apply theirs.

At least Texas Stadium was in Irving, which was right on the border with the City of Dallas.

Never should have left The Cotton Bowl, they’ve actually done a nice upgrade to it.

Will there ever be another California super bowl? I doubt it. After the tax penalty from the last game, why go there?

Hammond is right on the state line and a portion of its western city limits is a portion of Chicago’s city limits. East Chicago, Indiana, is east of Hammond.

In the beginning, the blue political party was red, and the red party was blue. For more than two decades, the colors changed back and forth depending on the election year and the network, in what appears, in hindsight, to be a flight of whimsy. The notion that there were “red states” and “blue states”—and that the former were Republican and the latter Democratic—wasn’t ingrained in the national psyche until 2000, when the United States Supreme Court effectively awarded Florida’s 25 electoral votes to Governor George W. Bush of Texas, cementing his victory over incumbent Vice President Al Gore.
