Sitting down to put your socks on, seeing previous clothes come back into fashion and asking 'who?' when watching the Brit Awards are all signs you are getting on.
The study was by American Pistachio Growers, which has partnered with actor John Thomson, 56, to urge mid-life adults to age positively.

Slippers should never be a punchline.
They left out peeing in the shower and vociferous and repeated farts in inappropriate venues. Not saying I’m guilty of such. Just sayin’. Really.

It’s a very cool analysis of how prevailing winds, hills and valleys, forests etc projected sounds in some directions, and muffled them in others in amazing ways.
I think these are accomplishments...
Last week on wed I was at the dentist, on the following friday I saw 2 doctors, one for my back and other to get medicine for an itchy spot on my head. This tuesday I got an MRI and scheduled an appointment for next week on wednesday and I also have a dentist appointment on that same day.
This is more then I ever do and I decided I needed to get some things fixed and did this in a few weeks.
Meanwhile my car needs the oil replaced and a brake job and I have been putting that off for too long....
After the dentist and back doctor I can look forward to physical therapy and I hope to find a good looking woman chiropractor and have a happy ending....

Me neither. I dont think thats weird though the way I always get dressed is kind of weird since I always wear boots.
I put socks on sitting down. While still sitting down I put my pants on half way, then put my boots on. Then when I stand up I finish putting my pants on.
If I put my socks on after my pants then the cuffs get in the way and the socks roll down when I put the boots on so sitting pants half way allows me to get the socks straight and the cuffs around the boots properly saving at least two toe touch exercises.
I didnt even know what Brit Awards were until I looked it up. Doesnt look all that British, looks more like American queer ghetto.
I havent watched any of the American versions since the ‘80s either. Apparently there is only about 3 minutes of each that is in anyway interesting so I wait until everyone is whipped up and posting the clip.
Those on this forum probably arent much into watching those shows overall.
Im not sure why Americans started doing that.
The Japanese do that, like so many of their other rules of etiquette they expect you do that as tradition, like the weird sitting on the feet thing, to assure to are at a disadvantage should you attack.
I dont want people spreading foot cooties around my house and I dont want to wear someone elses cootie slippers or trusting them that they cleaned up properly (staples, broken glass, hooks and nails).
I find it offensive really but I know a lot of people are doing it now. But its to save on the carpets! Some people should really put more thought into the carpet. I knew a family that lived in a small house meaning the living room was a good chunk of the square footage. They blocked off the living room, only the mom was allowed in there to dust. In a house full of men she decided she needed long not quite shag white-ish carpeting.
I think I got left behind. Someone was just telling me that “everyone” in the midwest does that now. I guess Ill just stay out in the boonies being the best American barbarian I can be.
Agree most heartily and have said so much on this forum before. I absolutely dont understand the men wearing prison slippers thing either.
Except for the aches and pains, which fortunately I don’t have, I guess I’ve always been an old soul.
I graduated in 1972. I’m also a big vinyl record collector (have a few thousand and four turntables). I find it interesting that my generation was not the least bit interested in our parents music, except for those few outliers. But that’s not the case today.
I think that is one of the biggest indictments against modern “pop”, and proofs that music WAS better. The stuff today may be technically superior, but frankly, it’s sorta lost its variety of sounds and the “flaws” that give it character and soul. And people notice, even if they are not sure what it is they are noticing.

Most of this list can simply be summed up as “getting smarter with experience”.
I’m with you. However, I find that I’m a fan of some of Taylor Swift’s music, especially her 1989 album. Her voice is purely pedestrian, but the arrangements and tunes are sometimes ridiculously catchy.
I dare you to listen to this all the way through. Yes, it can be a bit formulaic, but sometimes formulas work...

FWIW, my all time favorite Chicago Album is the first one. That is true “raw” Chicago. It is awesome!
