The former White House counsel under President Obama has resigned from Goldman Sachs over her ties to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Kathryn Ruemmler, who works as general counsel at Goldman, said she will resign this summer after emails released by the Justice Department revealed her conversations with Epstein, according to The Financial Times.
'I made the determination that the media attention on me, relating to my prior work as a defense attorney, was becoming a distraction,' Ruemmler told the publication.
She will exit the firm on June 30.
Ruemmler rose to the top ranks at Wall Street and became a key adviser to Solomon following a storied legal career, which included serving as White House counsel to former President Barack Obama, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Executives at the firm had previously claimed that Ruemmler had a strictly professional relationship with the financier, as she argued she never represented Epstein or advocated for him - though he would occasionally ask for her advice.
She has said she regretted ever knowing Epstein and had no knowledge of any new or ongoing illegal activity.
'I made decisions based on the information that was available to me,' she told the Financial Times. 'I have an enormous amount of sympathy and heartache for anyone he hurt.'
But the latest release of Epstein files shows Ruemmler hailing 'wonderful Jeffrey' in emails dated December 25 and 26, 2015, six years after he served 13 months in prison prostituting an underage girl.
She was even in the courtroom when Epstein was arraigned on sex trafficking charges in 2019, and he once even listed her as a backup executor of his will.
Their relationship apparently began around the time Ruemmler left the Obama administration in 2014.

Kathryn Ruemmler was Obama’s White House “Fixer”. She is at the heart of nearly every scummy scandal in the Obama White House.
I kinda remember that

She was Obama's dirty tricks specialist and fixer who was always in the back room of the worst scandals that happened either as the mastermind or the fixer - or both
Now we learn that she was also one sick little puppy.
While there are a few on the right that were involved the Epstein saga is heavily weighted with lefties. This is just another caught. It seems odd the left is so mesmerized since their side is going to suffer the most damage. Maybe it’s their arrogance that they are untouchable and that it can be used to bring down Trump but so far this seems to be blowing up in their faces.
This just led WCBS CH2 news. And Kristie Johnson made a point of noting Rummeler’s position as Barky’s White House Counsel. That post has a pretty close relationship with POTUS.

Ruemmler was a close associate of, and met with, Jeffrey Epstein on dozens of occasions between July 2014 and May 2019, according to his schedule, well after he had been convicted of sexual abuse of a minor. These included “lunches and dinners with celebrities, apartment hunting, and personal beauty appointments”, CNN reported. She was on his schedule for a flight to Paris in 2015, as well as a stop at his home in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2017, but she denied that these trips happened, and The Wall Street Journal could not confirm whether they did. She said in 2023: “I regret ever knowing Jeffrey Epstein.”
Ruemmler was listed as a backup executor in a January 2019 version of Jeffrey Epstein’s will, a disclosure from Congress showed on September 8, 2025. She was in frequent email correspondence with Epstein from 2014 to 2018, at times soliciting his advice regarding a prospective job offer or sharing chummy musings about ordinary Americans, as emails released by the House Oversight Committee in November 2025 revealed.
Ruemmler called Epstein “wonderful Jeffrey” and wrote “I adore him” in a December 2015 email exchange which appears to show Epstein booking and paying for her first-class trip to Europe. Other e-mails show her asking Epstein to help her land a job with Facebook and giving him advice as to how to respond to the coverage that his crimes were receiving in media. She also conveyed to Epstein that she was romantically involved with a married associate of his.
