Seahawks QB Sam Darnold won the Super Bowl — and he LOST money due to the stupidity of liberals. This is absolutely insane
Run time 1 minute
california jock itch
I predict players will expect future NFL contracts to have owners pay them a bonus for every game played in an income tax state. That’ll make the team owners less likely to agree to games like the super bowl being in high tax states.
This is not a new phenomenon. I imagine every player having to venture into CA has this type of stuff calculated into their salaries. If they don’t….they should fire their managers.
The NFL knew this before they ever agreed to play in California, the players should have known it too. Since it is mostly criminal thugs who cares?
But wait, there is more. It will happen again next year.
Darnell made 33 million plus endorsements and playoff money. 250k or what ever is walking around money. Now, if he is principled and realizes how much 250k could help worthy charities he will be disgusted. Don’t count on that epiphany happening with him.
Are golfers charged more taxes for their practice rounds?
Because they win prize money, the entire amount gets taxed. It’s a different payment set up than “team” sports.
California has become a fortress for the Left. Election law has become so corrupt the RATs always win the ones they want. The mayor of Los Angeles is a genuine Cuban trained Communist! When does it build a wall to prevent the ongoing brain drain?
California Jock Tax is actually a thing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
California is just the worst jock taxers…. New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Minnesota aren’t far behind. There are states with no jock tax… amongst them are Florida, Nevada, Texas…
Irrelevant. It is theft whether it is 250k or 1k.
You can’t have jock taxes without “nerd” taxes!
I wish I could lose money like that.
IIRC-—HE EVERY PRO TEAM-—FOOTBALL—BASEBALL—HOCKEY—BBALL-—HAS TO FILE A STATE INCOME TAX RETURN IN EACH STATE THEY PLAY IN-—AND THE INCOME IS BASED ON TIME INSIDE THE STATE .
Almost. I think California assumes you're there making income for the whole week, even if you're there for just a day or two.
