And hey, if we can pick up the island on the cheap, Secretary of State Marco Rubio might want to don a seersucker suit and start a new gig as the territorial governor and enjoy presiding over a revitalized Havana.

It's worth putting out there just to annoy the lefties.

**I don’t see him as administrative leader but for carrying out policy he’s awesome.**
He ran for the ultimate administrative job. Running Cuba would be good OJT.

**Give a free Cuba a few years to sort things out, then admit them as two or three new states, along with admission for the much smaller Puerto Rico if necessary.**
We don’t need new states. Jooz are not very popular these days. Send all the Spanish-speaking ones there from all over the world. They know business. Watch them show Latin America how it’s done.

Just admit Cuba as the 51st state and let Marco be governor for life. It’s bound to be conservative once we rescue and rehabilitate it. Could be the vacation capital of the west with a little development.

Yes, we need a few Mafia bosses in Havana? LOL

You are right .....they were a problem, an underlying cause of the Cuban revolution lead by Castro.

"The idea was to create a criminal empire outside the United States where they had influence over local politics but could not be affected by U.S. law enforcement. They were exploring doing the same thing in the Dominican Republic and countries in South America. It was a grandiose dream. But the gangsters of that era, like Lansky, Luciano, and Santo Trafficante, saw themselves as CEOs of corporations, operating at an international level."

The revolutions of Latin America simply substituted a communist totalitarian society for the Mafia totalitarian fascist system.

No repeat please. Cuba needs freedom.

Photo: Tourists and Cubans gamble at the casino in the Hotel Nacional in Havana, 1957. Meyer Lansky, who led the U.S. mob’s exploitation of Cuba in the 1950s, set up a famous meeting of crime bosses at the hotel in 1946.

Havana Nocturne: How the Mob Owned Cuba and Then Lost It to the Revolution

A big part of a transition of Cuba to freedom would be keeping the MAfia families from returning to Cuba.Rubio would have his work cut out for him.No problem, we have a Navy Base in Cuba at Guantanamo Bay that Obama wanted to close so the Castro revolution would have be complete.
