In fact, the only half time shows allowed at the superbowl should be marching bands without any obnoxious pop singers whatsoever.
Hey!! I always liked the frisbee-catching dogs too. Why can’t we have them?
But in seriousness, so long as everyone stays dressed and nobody spews vile obscenities, they can have whoever they want do the show. If I don’t like it, I won’t watch. As a matter of principle, I oppose censorship, so I’d be hypocritical if I were to support banning halftime show acts simply because I don’t like or agree with them.
They tried that before. Countless other cable channels (most notably MTV) started running their own halftime shows and viewers fled to those.
Eventually, someone at the NFL said, "Maybe we should do an MTV-style halftime show to retain viewers?"
And in 1993 the Super Bowl featured Michael Jackson. History was made and Super Bowl halftime shows were never the same again.
Face reality. Nobody under 70 wants to return to the days of the Grambling State Marching Band, Elvis Presto, and "A Super Bowl Salute to Hollywood Musicals."
And those that do are not the demographic that the NFL even remotely cares about.
Or Punt, Pass, and Kick.
“ should be marching bands”
…that would equal instant drop in ratings. There are plenty of clean acts out there. Mostly country and frankly, they would work much better. Best halftime shows in my opinion were Prince, Michael Jackson and 1994 Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, and The Judds
