Nope.
Vietnam was a colonialist war between Vietnam and France who were the colonialist rulers.
When the Vietnamese defeated France, it eventually looked like the communist North were taking over and Lyndon Johnson sent in US troops to help the south fight off the Viet Cong.
Trump has zero interest in colonizing Nigeria.
The Islamist terrorists have zero chance of beating the Nigerian military, who are pretty strong by themselves.

Kinda. Mission creep is a real thing. Send advisors into a hot war. Well, okay. But maybe those advisors need a secure base. And force protection.
