The Border Patrol is asking for VOLUNTEERS to go to Minneapolis and crack skulls. They are training right now.
The most reasonable logic of the Deal stands as characterized: President Trump has struck a deal under the terms of which he effectively ceases ICE efforts in Minnesota to deport all or virtually all non-criminal aliens in exchange for cooperation in identifying felons in jails.
I find nothing in this report that contradicts that conclusion. Rather it appears that the president is in fact drawing ICE down in stages that should be needed to remove non-criminal aliens in Minnesota.
Removing them could be seen as a failure of the Bovino approach. Or it could be seen as a Good Cop - Bad Cop strategy of Homan and Bovino.
But make no mistake, the war continues but we lost that battle led by Bovino. Honesty is usually helpful in discussing strategy and tactics.
