The Rangueil Accident and Emergency unit in Toulouse was evacuated after doctors found “an eight-inch-long live World War I artillery shell in…[a man’s] rectum,” according to the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail quoted “an investigating source” who indicated that the patient, a 24-year-old man, “…was in a state of extreme discomfort, having inserted a large object up his rectum.”
Because the artillery shell was not inert, “bomb disposal experts” were called in, as was the fire brigade.
The New York Post noted that “a security perimeter” was set around the medical facility while the artillery shell was being handled.

Early one Sunday morning a middle-aged male patient presented in my ER with a 6 oz bottle of Mennen Skin Bracer packed up his poop chute, I have no idea how it fit up there considering it’s unusual shape. The surgeon I.called to remove it was not amused.
After all was done Dr. told me to go to ER if any infection shows.
And come back in a week to get diagnosis.
PS,,,have been diagnosed as having cancer.

The mercy of God is staggering.
It just so happens I’m a 4th generation mold maker working on, believe it or not, some silicone molds for the defense industry.
I could make those molds without any trouble at all.....
This is even worse that an incident I remember from the 90’s. I was working at Ford in the restraints department in Advanced Vehicle Technology. Morton was one of our suppliers for airbag inflators. One day they had an explosion at one of their factories (not terribly uncommon). What made this one unusual was that it result in a live inflator being lodged in a workers’ nasal cavity. They had the bomb squad in the OR with the surgical team on that one.
And to the phrase “explosive climax.”
This paragraph should go down in history for the best understatement ever.
“The Daily Mail pointed out, “There was no initial explanation as to why the shell ended up in the man’s body, but local media speculated that it might have had something to do with his social life.”
Yikes! My sympathies and hopes for the best.
