Paul addressed federal officials’ claims that Pretti posed a threat to ICE officers.... I saw no evidence of him assaulting the police,” Paul said.
“The president’s advisor, Stephen Miller, called Pretti an assassin. That’s a lot of people–not telling the truth,” Pelley added.
Paul shook his head at Miller’s statement and added, “It sounds like terrible judgment. I mean, terrible conclusions, incorrect conclusions, stating things that no one else believes.

There was nothing to indicate he intended to use his weapon.
Libertarians like open borders.
I hope he dpesn’t care when he is finally primaried come his next reelection bd.
Like father, like son.
I hate Rand Paul or at least strongly dislike him. Support Donald Trump 1,000%.
Support Homan 100%.
But I don’t have any default devotion to either Bovino or Noem.
I wish what she said at that news conference had been true but it just wasn’t and that is her big mistake.
Rand Paul, a legislator who rants constantly but never legislates anything.
Those weren’t protests. Those are violent obstructionists interfering with the duties of law enforcement.
He could have a gun at a peaceful protest. If this had been a peaceful protest, this nincompoop would still be alive.
“Libertarians like open borders.”

Libertarians don’t support the welfare that tempts these people to come here in the first place. As Ron Paul once said you can’t have both open borders and welfare.
There was nothing to indicate he intended to use his weapon.
So, why was he carrying a total of three magazines?
Indeed. Even if we were to assume the very worst, that every public servant involved in the death of Pretti committed first degree murder, such assumption only applies to that specific incident.
It does not delegitimize the effort to identify, locate, arrest, and deport ILLEGAL aliens.
It does highlight possible problems in the way public servants are trained.
It does highlight the absolutely horrible job the State of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis did in keeping peace and order.
I’ve always supported arresting these protesters for obstructing governmental administration.
How true.
How true.
At no point did he reach for his weapon even while being taken down by the ICE officers.
I'm going to guess, from your question, that you never go about armed. Am I correct?
The quick answer is "that's a very normal thing for an armed Citizen to do."
He inserted himself into the actions of law enforcement. He had no right to do that. The cops did not know he had a gun until he got himself in between their actions in which a scuffle ensued, which was not his business to do.
Pretti should have been arrested a few days prior, when he assaulted some public servants and damaged their government-owned vehicle. Not arresting these "protesters" when they cross the line from protesting into rioting simply encourages worse behavior on their part.
Agreed. Pretti did a bunch of stupid things that should have gotten him arrested, tried, and put in jail. But nothing that should have gotten him shot.
Some day they will stop training cops to shoot when hearing the word "gun." At some departments, the word "gun" is used in training at the range for the command to commence fire.
Yes he should have been arrested. But this was NOT a lawful shoot in my opinion.
You didn’t answer my obvious question. Why carry a loaded gun to a “demonstration” (forbidden by law) and why carry two extra mags?
