Tom Brady won a Super Bowl without Bill Belichick as head coach; Belichick never won a Super Bowl as head coach without Brady. (Although he won two Super Bowls as the Giants’ defensive coordinator.)
Yes, the spectacle of his teenybopper girlfriend is a weird look for a 73-year-old, no-nonsense head coach.
Going 4-8 at the lowly University of North Carolina screams, “The game passed him by.”
All of the above are true. (Especially #1: In the NFL, Willies and Joes matter FAR more than X’s and O’s — and if you don’t believe me, consider the fact that Barry freaking Switzer has more Super Bowl rings than Hall of Fame head coaches Bud Grant and Marv Levy — or Hall of Very Good head coaches Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Allen, and Chuck Knox.) Tom Brady, who played at an elite level for 20+ years, mattered more for the Pats/Bucs success than any of their coaches, Belichick included.
But that doesn’t change the fact that Bill Belichick was one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game.

Montana was knocked out of the game in the 2nd quarter so the spread might have been different he he continued to play. Jerry Rice got “raped” by Kenny Hill which resulted in a big fine. Giants were very fortunate Hill was not suspended in the NFC Championship because he engaged in several flagrant hits on Rice. BTW I don’t like the 49ers, just putting out facts.
The Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins 44–34 in the Divisional Round. They beat the Los Angeles Raiders 51–3 in the AFC Championship. They were an offensive juggernaut. Then they came up against the New York Football Gants defense (coached by Bill Belichek) and were held to 19 points. That’s why the Giants won. Go back and watch the game.
