We’ll begin by acknowledging the counterarguments:
Tom Brady won a Super Bowl without Bill Belichick as head coach; Belichick never won a Super Bowl as head coach without Brady. (Although he won two Super Bowls as the Giants’ defensive coordinator.)
Yes, the spectacle of his teenybopper girlfriend is a weird look for a 73-year-old, no-nonsense head coach.
Going 4-8 at the lowly University of North Carolina screams, “The game passed him by.”
All of the above are true. (Especially #1: In the NFL, Willies and Joes matter FAR more than X’s and O’s — and if you don’t believe me, consider the fact that Barry freaking Switzer has more Super Bowl rings than Hall of Fame head coaches Bud Grant and Marv Levy — or Hall of Very Good head coaches Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Allen, and Chuck Knox.) Tom Brady, who played at an elite level for 20+ years, mattered more for the Pats/Bucs success than any of their coaches, Belichick included.
But that doesn’t change the fact that Bill Belichick was one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game.

I actually was at that game, when the Browns beat the Cowboys, during their SB run. IIRC the Cowboys were stopped at the 1-yard line at the end of the game, and Cleveland won.
The end of that game, it was 1994, Switzer’s first year in Dallas.

Wow. That was a heckuva coaching staff... but you still need the players.
Switzer lol. Definitely the worst HC to ever win a Super Bowl. That team basically ran itself to another championship.
They went 11-5 that year, Cleveland should have stuck with him.
By that game, Saban was already heading to Michigan State the next season.
Jerry’s look after that game said it all, “Why did I fire Jimmy?”
Yup. If Belichick is MAGA, he’ll never be a hall of famer. He’ll be like Curt Schilling, denied his rightful place.
The Steelers threw that SB.
Darn, he deserves to be in the HOF just for that photo.

Spot the Rich Guy.

Owner Robert Kraft and his girlfriend.
Go for it Kraft.
So long as she’s of age it’s all fair an’ square.

I wish a Happy Ending for the both of them.
Belichick had great players. So did Vince Lombardi, 10 years before Lombardi got there, Packers were the worst team in football. So they had got great drafts for years like Paul Hornung, and many others.
What Belichick did with all those low draft pick, amazing.
He should be in the hall unanimously on the first round.
LOL...
Belichick should go to the induction ceremony and sit in the audience.
That would freak them out.
He would upstage the whole show.
In 1978-79 the '9ers had gone 2-14 two years in a row. By 1981 they won a Super Bowl. Find me another turnaround like that.
Walsh was coach and GM. It was his ability to recognize and develop potential that was his special talent. He was the first to demand intelligence tests of his choices for the team. He was the first to put a chiropractor on the sidelines. The only other sports coach I can remember with like ability was John Wooden at UCLA.
Your cynicism about true love is duly noted......:-)
How about this years’ Patriots, 4-13 their previous two seasons.
