Yeah many will likely quibble over rankings. I won’t even get into that because all of these guys are great in their own way.

Pat Martino (ranked #29). I saw him in the 70s up close. Monster player. But of special interest is that fact that in 1980 he had some sort of brain hemorrhage which almost killed him. The surgery resulted in amnesia and he had no recollection of his career or even how to play guitar.

He started over and learnt jazz guitar from scratch - again. Incredible story.
