A viral video captured a customer’s fight after she allegedly couldn’t pay for her meal with her phone.
On Saturday, Jan. 3, a 32-year-old woman attempted to pay for food at a noodle restaurant in Hong Kong but her phone was dead, Newsflare reported.
Despite restaurant employees offering to help the woman charge her phone in the restaurant and “there was nothing overly unusual about her behaviour,” the restaurant owner said, the situation quickly escalated as the customer allegedly took a meat cleaver and pair of scissors from the restaurant. Other diners fled the restaurant and the owner called the police.
A dozen members of the Hong Kong Police Force were dispatched, each wearing helmets and holding shields and batons, per South China Morning Post.
Released CCTV footage shows the woman standing in the empty restaurant, which has food, phones and chopsticks strewn across the floor. Half of the group of officers entered the restaurant from the main entrance and the woman immediately charged at them, swinging the cleaver at their shields. The other six officers entered the restaurant from a side entrance and came up behind the woman seemingly in an attempt to disarm her. South China Morning Post reports that officers used pepper spray.

Indeed. There's a reason I never fight the police with a meat cleaver and chopsticks at restaurants.
I pay with cash.
Man...imagine what would have happened if they got the order wrong!
“”When in brits left hong kong, they apparently left some keystone cops to continue the stupidity.””
THAT statement needs some clarification - why the criticism of the police?
I’m guessing that an inability to pay her lunch tab that day wasn’t the only issue she was struggling with. Relatively sane, well-balanced people don’t react like this.
I sure miss SCTV

Good morning, June. How’s the Beaver?
She’s probably dead already.
Apparently this is a world-wide time standard.
You think she'll try for the umami defense?
Even it can be proven that she wasn't soba, it really sake-s for the noodle house if she had requested no MSG.
Yeah, that headline is crazy.
“In my opinion, a dimensional portal opened up somewhere, and the Nephilim have returned and are now occupying bodies of people all over the world. The craziness is widespread and out of control.”

Recall to mind the portal opening attempt called Babalon Working that Jack Parsons and at least one woman attempted in the 40’s. It was described as successful. Of course, JP was blown up in an explosion in his own company Jet Propulsion Labs a few years later.
Mentioned in biography of Robert Heinlein, also that Jack Parsons and L. Ron Hubbard were in and out of the Heinlein home on Lookout Drive in Laurel/Topanga Canyon at that time. Also that Heinlein’s wife at the time, Leslyn, was a self-described witch. Interesting.
Who knew?
Surprising indeed. Is that a variant of the North American Ghettopotamus?
I suppose nobody on the staff had a charging cable?

Excerpt says restaurant staff were happy to lend her a cable to charge her phone.
