I heard Nashville is supposed to get snow and ice. The ice is what gives me pause. That, and being Nashville, they probably don’t have the best snow/ice clearing ability.
I would think that the best course of action is to plan on staying home for a few days until it warms up and melts it all.
Oh-oh. Looks like the highs are in the 20’s and 30’s for the following week, and lows are single digit to teens. So much for waiting for it to melt.
The ice should be on top of substantial snow, so, it shouldn’t be too bad unless it falls on roads just cleared. Temperatures there during the freezing rain, until Sunday night, should be warm enough for salt to work, and the icing should be well past by evening.. How the TN Dept. of Transportation will try to handle it, I don’t know.
~9” of snow in Nashville should be fun. The ice looks to be around 1/4” — there may be scattered power outages, but nothing awful.
We are forecast for 12” of snow, and colder. More fun. But, no ice.
Here just west of Knoxville, we were “iced in” for 10 days in January 2024.
yes. I told her to prepare for potentiàlly a 2 week deal. Hopefully, its limited to 4 days, but....
We have the ability. It’s usually just salt mixture.
The last big ice storm we had was 1993.
