SEN. RAND PAUL: "I'm going to fight like hell" to stop $5bn refugee rip-off
X ^ | Jan 20 | Sen. Paul

Posted on 01/20/2026 12:10:12 PM PST by RandFan

@SenRandPaul

Just read the minibus Congress plans to pass this year. An unbelievable over $5 billion is going toward refugee welfare programs. I am going to fight like hell to get this removed. In the meantime, call your Senators and tell them to vote NO, and to put an end to the refugee rip-off.

Wow! Quick response to the newly discovered fraud existing in government spending provided by no budget since 2008. I’m glad an elected representative is (finally?) on top of it!

Does he name which “refugees” would be supported... and where? Not here in the US— no way. And no more payments to the Taliban which apparently Biden continued after giving up the Bagram (Soviet built) airbase we never should have left!!

The sobs are still getting money from us, or were until USAID was stopped. This, in many countries is simply money down a rat hole, mostly spent to no aid for US interests. We have got to stop paying other country’s bills. And get rid of the Somalis as a case in point.

No argument with Paul on this. Gravy train Ukraine, too.

But Rand Paul can’t do anything because whether he knows it or not he works for the deep state.

Support payments for people allowed in by asylum work 95% of the time. For example, I have a family member whose parents fled their country and gained asylum in the USA. The couple started a small convenience store that grew into three. Their children all went to college and are productive citizens living in the middle class.

A larger gov’t effort to ban this illegals would
help a lot. Round’em up, put them in work groups
and let them help enforce the USA border protection.
After some period send them back to where they came
from. I doubt they would like to come back again.

Because I could qualify as a refugee

I think he means illegal immigrant and this is his euphemism

Most don’t qualify as refugee. In any case they don’t belong here never mind collecting federal funds.

No sale, Rand

That’s right. If Paul weren’t always stabbing his party and Trump in the back, he’d be taken seriously, and some of his issues would be addressed. But, no, he wants the attention (like McCain) that the media will give any Republican who will stab their party and President in the back. Thus, he’s not taken seriously even when he says something worthwhile. He’s not a politician; he’s only out for attention. Suffers from little-man syndrome.
