State of Monday: All Roads Lead To Virginia If The GOP Doesn’t Wisen Up And Crack Down

The Pro-Crime Party has really held nothing back in the first week or so of the new legislative session

...

While all eyes have been on Minneapolis, the newly empowered Virginia Democrats wasted no time organizing an absolute orgy of legislative stupidity. Why this should matter to you is that it’s a blueprint for national rule should any of this spill over.

Let’s start with law enforcement, or lack thereof in vapid left-wing dreamland.

Spanberger immediately rescinded Youngkin’s executive order requiring law enforcement to aid federal officials in deportations. On top of that, statehouse Dems introduced a litany of bills that would make illegal immigration markedly worse. They want to ban civil arrests for immigration offenses at courthouses (HB650). They want to guarantee free education to illegals (HB912). Virginia Democrat Jessica Anderson, who filmed herself peeing in public and then posted it to TikTok, introduced HB533, which would use taxpayer funds to teach English to incarcerated criminal illegals.

I’m just getting started, Dear Reader. Virginia Democrats have also targeted law enforcement officials themselves. HB1314 effectively ends qualified immunity for police and federal officials, allowing for civil suits across the board. That’s not all: If you’re wearing a mask as a cop, a criminal can claim his rights were violated and sue you after the fact. If he gets a win, the officials would be personally liable for things like legal costs … incurred by a criminal!

On the other hand, criminals under Democrat rule in Virginia will see quite a reversal in treatment. HB244 would “reclassify” certain kinds of robbery as non-violent, even if said robberies include intimidation. The bill would create legal ambiguity about what constitutes violence, effectively ending Virginia’s “three-strikes to life” policy, which required enhanced sentences for repeat offenders.

Democrats Take Over State . . . Immediately Move to Soften Crime Laws

https://thelibertydaily.com/democrats-take-state-immediately-move-soften-crime-laws/

“The Virginia state House’s Courts of Justice Committee is weighing soft-on-crime legislation after Democrats won a trifecta in the state’s government.

House Bill 244, introduced by Democratic state Del. Vivian Watts on Jan. 8, would expand parole eligibility for certain convicted robbers and reduce the severity of specific robbery offenses. Democrats now control both chambers of Virginia’s legislature and the governor’s office after the 2025 and early 2026 elections, with Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger swearing in on Saturday.”

This happens all the time. Democrats take over and move quickly to pass all the laws on their wish list.

When Republicans are elected they move at a snail's pace and are lucky to get one conservative bill passed into law in a period of two years. We have turncoats in our midst -- -- Senate Leader Thune for one.

-------

Democrats in Virginia have introduced a bill that discriminates against White men in government contracting.

For discretionary contracts under $100K, White men are barred from even being considered unless there’s literally no competition.

And even then, this bill allows agencies to award contracts to women or minority-owned firms that are 5% more expensive than a bid from a business owned by a White man.

It is appalling now pro-crime / pro-criminal the Dems are across the country. They just don’t care one whit for law-abiding citizens.

“- Ban gas powered leaf blowers.”

I don’t care that they are gas powered, it is the dang noise.

And the lawn servicd users take twice as long on a yard as I do with my battery blower.

I’m with you. It’s heart wrenching.

If the first week of Dimocrat control is any indicator VA will overcome MD on the race to the bottom.
