Tenant "lost" her job (most likely got fired for poor performance) two years ago and has been completely subsidized. BUT... She opted for the luxury package add ons for a small monthly fee in this NEW BUILD APARTMENT and defaulted for almost two years!
BTW in California, you have to reach a rent "threshold" of a certain amount past due before evicting; generally, the fair market rent for one month.
Although I don’t believe this took place in California.
There’s something fishy about this story.
Actually it was originally on CourtNerds. Nothing fishy, not AI. The entitlement is REAL. As a landlady, I’ve seen it over and over again.
