On Jan. 17, 2026 at approximately 6:20 pm, Winter Haven Police officers responded to a reported fight at the Chain of Lakes Complex Baseball Fields located at 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven. Officers located two victims, one a 21 year-old umpire officiating a game wearing his official umpire identifiers (Victim 1) and the other victim the umpire’s father (Victim 2) who was in the stands watching the game.
During the game, Victim 1 gave a verbal warning to 25 year-old Marcos Antonio Aballi (Kissimmee Florida) who was a coach of one of the teams playing in the tournament.
Right after the warning, the father of the umpire (Victim 2), was approached by 38 year-old Yosmany Guzman Fernandez

Judging by the last names involved, there’s a need for assimilation. Baseball in the U.S. shouldn’t be done like soccer in the 3rd world.
I did ‘youth coaching’ **once**.
Parents are a massive PITA at best. When I reached my limit, I told the b(5 letter word) that since she was an obvious expert, she was now the coach. My son and I went to our auto and never returned to the game or anything else related to ‘youth sports’.
Life is just too short.
I used to spend a couple weeks there every spring when I was photographing college baseball. I would spend all day there, shooting game after game. It’s a big facility.
I think they tore down the old stadium and have built a brand new complex there.
Someone needs to call ICE to check papers.
All three were charged with battery on a sports official during an event.
Sad that there has to be a separate section of the law for this specifically.

When my son played travel baseball, the dad’s created a left field club where umpires, family and coaches couldn’t hear our brilliant observations and commentaries.
