NBC has given out a pilot order to a reboot of the classic series “The Rockford Files.”
The pilot hails from writer and executive producer Mike Daniels. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman will executive produce, with Chris Leanza co-executive producing. Universal Television is the studio.
---SNIP--- Along with Garner, the original show also starred Noah Beery Jr., Joe Santos, Gretchen Corbett, and Stuart Margolin. The show ultimately aired for over 120 episodes, while Garner reprised the role of Rockford in eight TV movies at CBS between 1994 and 1999.

I only saw one or two episodes when the show was running. Got the CD collection recently and watched them all. Very good writing. Great cars, and historical architectures of the early 70’s in L.A., and Southern California. Before the Dems stole the state.
I hope they don’t “wokeify” it. If they do I would not watch it.
Oddball fact...The later TV show MURDER SHE WROTE used that same beach location in one of its episodes...something about Joshua Peabody...
I don’t remember a trailer park in the series.
Just Jim’s trailer on the beach.
Support cast will include blacks and queers. Ho hum
Jim Rockford will be cast as Jane Rockford.
Angel will be cast as a Hispanic transgender man
Pops will be cast as 2 old lesbians
The gold Pontiac Firebird will be cast as a Subaru Outback covered in COEXIST bumper stickers.

I religiously watched The Rockford Files when I was a little girl and my parents bought the the single 45 to play, which I did ENDLESSLY. Oh, how I loved this show!!!!
My sister and I also watched Hee Haw, The Lawrence Welk Show, Star Trek, Wild Wild West, The Love Boat, the ABC Afternoon Specials, Bugs Bunny, and of course CREATURE FEATURE on Saturday nights at 11:30 pm if I could stay awake that long.
Then, Sunday mornings, we would wake our parents up at 6 am to make us French toast - early enough that they couldn’t say we didn’t have time before Mass.

That being said and this will make liberals sad, despite Bugs Bunny shooting and kissing Elmer Fudd all the time while wearing a dress and Pepe Le Pew always grabbing the kitty so he could force kisses on her, we never thought we were boys and we never became violent.
These reboots tend to be very diappointing.
And, married to the same woman for 58 years until his death.
Barring a zombi apocalypse I don’t think either one of us will ever be able to afford a beach trailer in LA.

While such a dream place to live even though you were not rich was almost too incredible to believe, I got something very similar on the So Cal beach, loved his place.
Garner may have had very deep thoughts and hopes about marriage and family.
The word “creativity” is unknown in Hollywood.

My Dad went to the same elementary school as James Garner in Norman, Oklahoma. Garner was in the 5th grade when my Dad was in the 1st grade.
James Garner’s brother Jack Garner has small parts in several Rockford Files episodes. Jack played minor league baseball in the Pirates organization for 11 years and later became a golf pro and member of the PGA. Jack played on a state champion high school basketball team and as quarterback on an all state high school football team.
Noah Beery Jr is the 5th cousin of my grandmother on Mom’s side.
