Chairman James R. Comer said Tuesday the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee would take up a contempt of Congress measure against Bill Clinton next week, after the former president did not show up for a deposition tied to the panel’s investigation of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Committee approval of a contempt of Congress measure would be the first step on a path that could lead to legal troubles for the Democratic former president, a figure vilified by conservatives and President Donald Trump.
Republican lawmakers gathered Tuesday morning in the Rayburn House Office Building as a scrum of TV cameras and reporters lined the hallway. After it became clear Clinton would not be attending, Comer announced he would move forward next week with a markup to pursue contempt of Congress.
“We’ve communicated with President Clinton’s legal team for months now, giving them opportunity after opportunity to come in — to give us a date — and they continue to delay, delay, delay, to the point where we had no idea whether [they were] going to show up today or not,” Comer said. “I think it’s very disappointing.”
The Kentucky Republican said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “is supposed to show up tomorrow. We’ll see what happens there.” She is not expected to appear.
Comer did not say what the aim of the contempt of Congress push might be. A criminal contempt of Congress could lead the Trump administration to decide whether to prosecute Clinton on a charge that brings the possibility of up to a year in prison and a fine.

Nice picture.
He was at the VD clinic.
GOP: It's almost as if they are trying to fool us and treat us like rubes who will end up being laughed at as the Clintons skate again. That isn't it, is it? They said to trust them.
Ha. Bill still has his old reserved parking place. Faded yellow lines but still there.
He still has the El Camino with the carpet in the back. Yummy.
Ha.

“Uh, no, I cleared that up. I mean the old appeal.”

Don’t be late! 😎
Find him in contempt. Issue a warrant. Send federal marshals to apprehend. Be done talking.
Seeking, thinking, contemplating, threatening, moving to possibly...
Waste of time. Get over it. The Kenyan got away with being a Kenyan in the WH.
Much ado about nothing.

Hillary is in her hideout?
Can I ask a stupid question?
For quite a while, the liberal view was that Trump and his people needed to release everything about Epstein. They were supposed to release all of the files without delay. The liberal demand was that we need to be transparent about everything involving Epstein.
So my stupid question is, why would a prominent liberal, such as Bill Clinton avoid testifying about Epstein? His testimony should give us valuable information about Epstein. The liberal view is that we need all the information about Epstein to be released. Bill Clinton clearly has information about this subject. Now is his big chance to help clear the air about Epstein. Yet he chose to avoid taking advantage of that chance.
Reminds me of Eric Holder. They will never arrest Clinton.
