A GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the wife and son of Renee Nicole Good, the woman who was fatally shot while trying to mow down an ICE agent, has raised nearly $600,000 in less than a day.
Good was shot on Wednesday during an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis, in which she was using her vehicle to impede the operation throughout the day.
The situation turned deadly when she began to accelerate her vehicle into an officer, who fired in what appears to be a clear-cut case of self-defense.
The fundraiser, organized by Mattie Weiss, is titled “Support for Renee Good’s Wife and Son” and aims to assist Good’s wife and six-year-old son as they cope with the “devastating loss.” The description describes Good as “pure sunshine, pure love,” adding, “She will be desperately missed.”
Nearly 15,000 people contributed in the 15 hours after it launched.
According to DHS, Good attempted to “weaponize” her vehicle by trying to ram into agents, prompting one officer to fire three “defensive shots” in fear for his life and the safety of others.
U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem went even further and labeled Good’s actions as an act of “domestic terrorism” and defended the agent’s response as justified.
The shooting sparked massive protests in Minneapolis and beyond.
The woman who stated she was Good’s wife at the scene of the incident claimed in a witness video that she had forced her to attend the protest.
“I made her come down here; it’s my fault. They just shot my wife,” the woman says.
The Star Tribune reports, “Good had previously been married to Timmy Ray Macklin Jr., who died in 2023 at the age of 36. Macklin’s father, Timmy Ray Macklin Sr., was shocked to hear the news that Good had been shot and killed.”
“He said Good and his son had a child who is now 6 years old.”
“There’s nobody else in his life,” Macklin said. “I’ll drive. I’ll fly. To come and get my grandchild.”

Yea I’ve noticed that too. Several articles from multiple sources just say he was a veteran and that he died a few years back but don’t say how. Makes one wonder. The man was very young.
I thought GoFundMe didn’t allow fundraisers that benefitted ppl accused of a crime. That was their excuse when it was J6ers at least.
