Trump seeks more than $6M from Fani Willis' office in wake of election interference case

President Donald Trump is asking the office of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to reimburse him more than $6.2 million in attorney fees and costs in the wake of the recently dismissed 2020 election interference case she brought against him.

The development comes after Willis was permanently sidelined from prosecuting the case against Trump last September. She had lost an appeal after the Georgia Court of Appeals said Willis and her office could not continue to prosecute the case, citing an "appearance of impropriety" stemming from her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade. The case was then dismissed in November.

Georgia state legislators last year passed a law that says that if a prosecutor is disqualified from a case because of his or her own improper conduct and the case is then dismissed, anyone charged in that case is entitled to request "all reasonable attorney's fees and costs incurred" in their defense. The judge overseeing the case then is responsible for reviewing the request and awarding the fees and costs, which are to be paid from the budget of the prosecutor's office.

"In accordance with Georgia law, President Trump has moved the Court to award reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred in his defense of the politically motivated, and now rightfully dismissed, case brought by disqualified DA Fani Willis," Steve Sadow, Trump's lead attorney in Georgia, said in a statement.

It would appear that President Trump is being nice in asking to be reimbursed for legal fees resulting from false charges. If these Fools in Fulton ignore the request they are asking to get sued, say for $100 million or something. This will be fun.

Yep. Given the success he’s had suing media outlets Fulton county would be smart to give him his money back, call it good and leave him alone.

Wow. Life for a corrupt politician who’s convinced of their own superiority, with corrupt money rolling in etc...has got to be just surreal when they’re busted on the wrong side of the law. Bet she wasn’t so cocky when she got this news.

Fulton County is Atlanta Georgia. How many of those primitive savages pay taxes to the county? The money will come out of their pocket.

Georgia law states that if a prosecutor is disqualified and the case is then dismissed, anyone
charged is entitled to request “all reasonable attorney’s fees and costs incurred” in their defense.

Steve Sadow, Trump’s lead GA attorney stated: “In accordance with Georgia law, President Trump has moved the Court to award reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred in his defense of the politically motivated, and now rightfully dismissed, case brought by disqualified DA Fani Willis,”

In some states, you can sue the prosecutor personally if they act outside of their authority.

The whole idea of rouge DAs is the average citizen can’t afford to defend himself. Not in trumps case he’s a multibillionaire who can afford the best attorneys from Ivy League colleges. Fans on the other hand is a lacky.

The next GA election is a free for all of 19 seeking to fill the vacant Congressional Seat in NW GA.

The next GA election after that is the Primary. For US Senate Buddy Carter & Mike Collins will split the Trump/MAGA vote. Rich McCormick?

For GA Gov Burt Jones, the MAGA candidate and Chris Carr, the attorney general who wouldn’t touch vote fraud cases both have flaws.

Kelvin King is the most qualified and honest person for Secretary of State. But MAGA Populist Vernon Jones has a charismatic personality and will split the vote of good people. That may allow SWAMP Gabe Sterling to divide and conquer.

She’s a real winner for the taxpayers there. She should have to participate in the payback.

The problem is Fani won't pay a dime of it, she'll just laugh if her office has to pay the money. It'll get paid by the state of Georgia, she'll still have stolen her millions and funneled it to her boyfriend. Her constituents will still re-elect her because she's a ghetto thug and all her constituents are the same. They don't pay taxes so the money will come from Georgia residents who actually do pay taxes.

If a crooked prosecutor like Fani had to pay out of their own pocket then they might think twice when doing something like this. As it is they just laugh and stick the taxpayers will the bill, and people who actually pay taxes didn't vote for her.
