Once again, I am bringing Brad & Lex back to the front..
I believe this is their first time ever hearing Rush. The confusion on Brad's face, and the excitement on bubbly Lex's face tell you all you need to know about this couple.. (I am so envious of Brad for finding this treasure).

Brad being the serious one, and Lex being the cute, bubbly, bouncy girl she always is.
I can't wait to get to the ZZTop reactions with them soon 😉
Rush is a lot to digest from a first hearing. And even with countless listens, it may not be someone’s cup of tea. I like some of their stuff, and other stuff leaves me cold — even after many listenings. They can be pretentious without having a lot of depth, but many times musicians are that way because anything other than music is not interesting. I remember once hearing David Bowie try to talk philosophy in a more studied manner. But it was embarrassing. You know that he was winging it and couldn’t find the right words. He heard of certain books and people, but didn’t really know anything. Maybe that passes with some people — that you appear seemingly knowledgeable — but honestly it’s doing you a disservice. Anyway, I couldn’t watch the whole thing because Tom Sawyer is not one of my favorite RUSH songs.
Wow, how could anyone not have heard Rush ?
I prefer the earlier albums in (moving pictures included of course)
but Red Barchetta and Witch Hunt are probably my favorite songs on that album.
probably one reason I have a red convertible sports car today
Rush Limbaugh was sooooo much better to listen to!!!
I was in the 5th grade, Mrs Barlow’s classroom, when they announced President Kennedy had been shot.
I was leaving my brother John’s house when they announced the first cracks in the Berlin Wall. I did a u-turn, and we watched for days.
I was driving North up the 880 Freeway in the San Francisco Bay Area when I first heard the booming voice and dulcet tones of El Rush-Bo. It was 1984. The Sacramento BLOWTORCH 1530 KFBK had the presence of mind to hire Rush. Rush called it THE BLOWTORCH because with 50,000 watts, you could hear it far and wide.
At my younger age.. (starting when I was 14, and being in West Texas), I was a radio DJ...
I think the first Canadian group that crossed my turntable was April Wine (don’t think many USA FReepers would even know of them)...
We mostly played “contemporary” music (which was mostly mid to late 70s, and I got sick of quickly)..
I had ‘Heard of’ RUSH from my step-brother (father’s wife).. and the music didn’t mean much to me at the time. Also the first time I had heard “Another One Bites the Dust”, Queen.. guessing around 1981?? (and the Van Halen Van Halen album at the same time.)
Anyway.. I started to realize the significance of the musical scores when I got older (and started playing more instruments (and reading scores)).. (BTW, I still cannot understand HOW they can place “RAP” into the same category, when they cannot even sing).
It is a shame you do not like this song from them (they have others that you like, as you said), because.. it is so well composed and blended, that not many other composers could even come close to what they (a 3 member band) could have, and ever did.. do.
We all have our preferences, and I respect that.
(Scary that the youngest generation now uses A.I. to make lyrics and music itself now...).
April Wine.... don’t hear them mentioned very often... have a couple of their albums as well as CD’s. About wore one of the CD’S out.... if that’s possible.
Wait.... what.... they haven’t heard ZZ Top. Aw man.... go easy on em as some of their jams liable to really blow their mind.
Glad I’m not the only one that heard them. They were talented, but were not well heard/spread out. The only reason I knew of them, was because I was a radio dj at the time.
A tour of The Music Science Center, with Professor Peart....
I will argue till the day I die.. Pert is/was the best drummer ever.
Where do you think.. Tennessee, Missouri, or North Carolina? (I have no clue, btw)
I THINK I have seen that name before.. but never heard them.
Sounds like a very light Pat Benetar.. Can head mid 80s.
*hear*
Early 21st Century. 2005 or 6 i believe.
