George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley is not a conservative, but he is an honest and very smart man. Since the news of Maduro’s capture by the U.S. Military under Trump this morning, he has been pointing out that Trump did not need approval from congress to do this, despite what Democrats are claiming now.
Turley uses the example of Manuel Noriega, who was removed from Panama by the United States in 1989 under similar circumstances. He refers to the actions of other presidents as well.
Democrats and their media allies will object in the months ahead, but there is legal precedence for all of this.

For all those "political experts" who think the President Trump was required to notify congress.
Specially the knucklhead Trump hater known as randfan -
Will ICE please arrest and deport that foreign refugee PIG, PRAMILA GORILLA? She is an embarrassment to America. Send her butt home. She is a danger to the freedom and liberty of AMERICA. Dumbass skank.
Some of them are only saying these things because they assume the American people are credulous and stupid, and they’re not entirely wrong. 75 million voted for Harris.
Trump v. United States, 603 U.S. 593 (2024), is a landmark decision of the Supreme Court of the United States in which the Court determined that presidential immunity from criminal prosecution presumptively extends to all of a president's "official acts" – with absolute immunity for official acts within an exclusive presidential authority that Congress cannot regulate such as the pardon, command of the military, execution of laws, or control of the executive branch. On July 1, 2024, the Court ruled in a 6–3 decision that presidents have absolute immunity for acts committed as president within their core constitutional purview...Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote that "The relationship between the President and the people he serves has shifted irrevocably. In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law."
I don’t like to use words like that.
But I’m glad you do! :D
Democrats and their media allies speak about legal issues that’s rich.
It’s like the Mafia complaining about gun laws.
Turley is the unicorn.
An honorable Chicago liberal Democrat.
Declaring yourself president and being elected president are two different things.
The Democrat lamentations are “pro forma”
For face time on TV
The fact Trump cannot trust congress with advanced notification of an impending military action should seriously call into question the constitutionality of the war powers act.
Does anyone doubt Maduro would have been notified, and I believe the democrats would gladly sacrifice a few military lives to damage Trump politically.
If Maduro had been notified, I’d guess that we’d be right back where we started or thereabouts. Now, if we’d had the OLD Democrat Party like back in the Truman era....things might be different.
AOC is upset...She needs to make herself a strong drink...
Trump is forcing the Democrats to defend Maduro. 😆
Even the idiot Debbie wash woman Schultz is saying this is a good thing.
Those on Capitol Hill condemning this totally appropriate action are finding themselves on a deserted island.
Yes, I chortled when I read that Debbie Blabber mouth Schultz was defending it. 😉
Biden even raised the bounty on Maduro before leaving office.
