To: Lonesome in Massachussets

Side note - maybe in the new year we can resolve to move away from holiday (day, week, month) thematic quotes. They are getting too predictable. This was a two second solution. The cryptogram is greatly appreciated (I might have opus’d out already if not for this thread). I don’t think I’ve missed one in the 5 years or so it’s been running. It’s just that I can already predict tomorrow’s quote.

I’ll go have some cheese with my whine now. 🤣

Did you actually solve yesterday’s puzzle, or just the first three words (And possibly got two out of three wrong?), and just assumed? The verse quoted was more English and less Scots than the more familiar similar verse, and has little in common with it, other than the meter. The “author” of the more familar “Scots” verse identified it as a Scottish folk tune (although the familar tune was added after RB published his version).
