When it comes to the “flu” I don’t give credence to reports like this.
Those things could have had their necks wrung by psychos or slaughtered by wild cats. But if they had a virus in their system, we’ll be told they “died with the bird flu” and then the campaign for folks to get the latest “booster” will be spun up.
Birds have been dying of H5N1 for the better part of two yeaars. I haven’t seen much talk about vaccination against it except the suggestion that those working closely with livestock might want to take it.
I live in Orlando and know the area well. I am even a graduate of the elementary school across the street from Lake Eola. The swans are tough and are protected against predators and malevolent humans.
