...we mapped where Antarctica’s ice melt would have the biggest impact
....The melting ice raises average global sea level, alters ocean currents and affects temperatures in places far from the poles.
But melting ice sheets don’t affect sea level and temperatures in the same way everywhere.
In a November 2025 study, our team of scientists investigated how ice melting in Antarctica affects global climate and sea level.
.....
The extent to which the Antarctic ice sheet melts will depend on how much the Earth warms. And that depends on future greenhouse gas emissions from sources including vehicles, power plants and industries.
Studies suggest that much of the Antarctic ice sheet could survive if countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement goal to keep global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) compared to before the industrial era. However, if emissions continue rising and the Changes in Antarctica The extent to which the Antarctic ice sheet melts will depend on how much the Earth warms. And that depends on future greenhouse gas emissions from sources including vehicles, power plants and industries.

Our research shows that high emissions pose risks not just to the stability of the West Antarctic ice sheet, which is already contributing to sea-level rise, but also for the much larger and more stable East Antarctic ice sheet.
It also shows how different regions of the world will experience different levels of sea-level rise as Antarctica melts.
.....
Instead, many places experience higher regional sea-level rise than the global average, while places close to the ice sheet can even see sea levels drop. The main reason has to do with gravity.

The scientists who receive the most money to “prove” the rising sea levels have the greatest rise in their bank accounts.
Most on the call were infected heavily with the climate change virus.
I work in the insurance world.
Talk about rocking the boat.
I’m thinking hoverboard.
Sea levels in poor countries is now 5 feet higher than richer countries. Proof positive that climate change is racist.
And I actually liked climate change. Never again, baby.
Gravity is not uniform around the Earth. Also, there are tides.
“depend on how much the Earth warms”
Google AI: “In essence, the Sun provides nearly 100% of the ‘initial’ energy”. Then explains that away. Google says the Sun’s energy fluctuates by 0.1%.
So man-made global warming would have to be greater than 0.1% to be worth mentioning. And it isn’t...unless you consider 0.1% times x to the xth days and years and centuries of manmade global warming. Of course, energy from the Sun is not one dimensional...It fluctuates up and down 0.1%.
A few years back I attempted to calculate sea level rise
caused by erosion and river siltation.
Not much data available on line.
That is where I came up with the idea
of solving sea level rise by ocean dredging!
Water no longer rises at the same rate. Ok....
We must have more government power and government grants to fund more studies...
THIS TIME they’ll get it right.
Water finding its level is raciss. Thankfully melting polar cap ice supports DEI and equity.
I have a leftist sister in Kalifornia that will strongly disagree with you. She told me the water rises at different levels in California beaches due to glowbull warming. Of interest, her and her daughter do not recognize Trump as their President. I can’t stomach talking to those potheads.
In other words, in places where gravity is stronger there will be areas where the ocean is not level?
Then how can they claim to measure level by the mm? Space lasers?
Yes, but it probably not noticeable by eye.
Some water is more level then other water….
Well that explains why the water in my glass is at different levels when the ice melts!
Everyday, learn new things!
