Serge Gainsbourg wrote some of the most beautiful lyrics about her. This song is about when she left him to go back to her husband.

In 1971 when Ferrari introduced the 512BB, the company, and its sales literature claimed the "BB" stood for "Berlinetta Boxer," which did not make a lot of sense as the engine in the vehicle was not a true boxer engine layout.
Leonardo Fioravanti who was an engineer with the design firm Pininfarina, claims that the team that designed the vehicle (of which he was part) thought the vehicle was so beautiful they began referring to it as the, "Brigitte Bardot," or, "BB," and employees at the Ferrari factory followed suit, but Ferrari executives invented the "Berlinetta Boxer," moniker for the sake of propriety. The account may or may not be true, but being that the source of it was one of the design team gives it some credibility. It is a beautiful car, and I could easily buy the story.
RIP Ms. Bardot.
