WASHINGTON — The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of actors Rob Reiner and Anthony Geary following their respective deaths on Sunday. Geary and Reiner were both 78.
Reiner, who had a breakout role as Mike in Norman Lear's 1970s sitcom "All in the Family," was found dead on Sunday alongside his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner. The couple's younger son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested for their murder.
Geary, an Emmy-winning actor known for his longstanding portrayal of Luke Spencer in "General Hospital," died on Sunday following complications from an operation three days earlier, according to TV Insider.
The two actors once crossed paths and shared the screen on an early episode of "All in the Family."
In the episode "Judging Books by Covers," Geary played Roger, Mike's quirky friend, whom Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor) suspects is gay based on how he dresses. Archie, who is the conservative patriarch in the show, soon finds out that one of his own best friends is gay and wrongly assumes Roger's sexuality.

Hmmm. I thought the gay guy was Mike’s friend and the big football player (who was maybe gay himself) was Archie’s friend or at least an acquaintance.
Approximately 150,000 people die each day worldwide from various causes.... None of which is any more important than the other.

I assumed that these two were married:
People are always interested in celebrity deaths. Even those who think it’s inconsequential but click on the link and comment anyway. :)
That can’t be a coincidence.
Well you got me there.....
I agree and suspect we may be wired much the same FRiend.
Here we had a tv show where the dope smoking loser who had never achieved anything was always self-righteously lecturing Archie.
So who was Archie? Probably a guy who fought in WW2 or Korea, came home, worked his tail off to marry his sweetheart, own a house, and raise a little girl. He was supposed to be the buffoon?
I was THE typical rebellious teenager in those days and even dumbass me was still able to see through that propaganda.
Actually he looked kinda gay. I think people’s gaydars are more fine tuned now than they used to be.
it’s the liberal playbook really- take the truth, make fun of the truth- make people think that the truth is only attractive to bigots and extremists-

Yes, the beginnings of the media’s successful sexual and racial brainwashing through comedy shows.
Cold - but not too soon
I remember a few times on the show where Archie said, "You know, I fought in doubleya-doubleya two--the Big One!"
I remember an episode of “All in the Family” where Archie said to Mike, “Where were you in World War II?”
Mike: “I wasn’t even born yet!”
Archie: “Aw, that’s no excuse!”
“Archie Bunker’’.
I’ve often told people that ‘’archie’’ was a British WW2 era slang word for anti aircraft fire.
Just think of the name and the image ‘’Archie Bunker’’.
Archie Bunker on the virtues of the Italian people: “Ya know when ya got yerself an honest Italian ya really got yerself something there!’’.
In the show Archie mentioned a few times during WW2 he served in the Army in Italy.
