A Milwaukee jury has convicted the pro-migration judge who smuggled an illegal migrant out of her courtroom and away from waiting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan now faces up to five years in jail for obstructing an official proceeding when she escorted illegal migrant Eduardo Flores Ruiz out of her courtroom. Flores Ruiz had already been deported and so faced jail for sneaking back into the United States.
It took just six hours for the jury to agree on the verdict after Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Brown Watzka summed up the evidence by saying, “She was a frustrated and angry judge who was fed up, who decided to corruptly take matters into her own hands.”
Dugan has had a long career working for pro-migration groups, including Catholic Charities.
One of Dugan’s attorneys, Jason Luczak, asked the jury to play politics, saying:
“You’re the check on government overreach. Use your power to do justice in this case. You have the power to correct this unjust prosecution. It’s your decision and justice is in your hands.
“I would just say the case is a long way from over,” defense attorney Steven Biskupic said after the verdict.
Many polls show that the public overwhelmingly supports the deportation of criminal illegal immigrants.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche celebrated the conviction, saying:

This is a good sign the culture is going SANE again.
I only care if she is no longer a judge.
I’m with you on this one.
And hopefully stays sane.
She obviously did it. If she had said ‘I objected to my court being used by ICE as a net to catch people, I did it to protect my court as a place where you get justice, not a trap’ then maybe ... maybe ... someone on jury would say ‘yeah, I can see that’ but outright denying it? Nobody likes being liked to as if they are morons.
Everybody in America has been screwed by a judge at one point. Getting on a jury to convict a black robed tyrant is a dream come true for any normal person.
She's small potatoes but it's a start. I predict her sentence will be a slap on the wrist. Will an appeals court throw out the verdict?
“... including Catholic Charities.”
In itself, that’s a good reason to convict. Not anti-Catholic; I’ve seen them up close and they are a nasty piece of work.
As to sentence, don’t hold your breath. Judge sentencing a judge? Nah.
“She was a frustrated and angry judge who was fed up, who decided to corruptly take matters into her own hands.”
Fed up with criminals being caught, how about that.
She has potential as a jailhouse lawyer. I say we let her explore that.
I just learned yesterday that there is audio to the video. Apparently she said “I’ll take the heat.” Wish granted!
She needs jail. Losing her job is tough but it wont put enough fright into the rest of these scummy swamp dwellers. Judges cannot be activists.
Five years...
Six hours?
I was on the jury for a kidnapping/murder case and we only took 45 minues to convict.
Despite mountains of evidence and testimony from both sides during a 30-day trial, we only looked at the security video and that was that.
I'm sure the courthouse has video footage showing her escorting him out.
