Dan Bongino on Wednesday confirmed he is resigning from the FBI.
Bongino said he will be leaving the FBI in January.
Full statement on X:
I will be leaving my position with the FBI in January. I want to thank President Trump, AG Bondi, and Director Patel for the opportunity to serve with purpose. Most importantly, I want to thank you, my fellow Americans, for the privilege to serve you. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.
Shortly before Bongino made his official announcement, President Trump appeared to confirm Bongino’s departure from the FBI in remarks to reporters.
“Dan did a great job. I think he wants to go back to his show,” Trump said of Bongino.

Trump Suggests Dan Bongino is Leaving the FBI
Bongino announced his resignation just weeks after Brian Cole of Virginia was arrested for planting pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC on January 5, 2021.
FBI Director Kash Patel released a statement on Bongino’s resignation.
“Dan is the best partner I could’ve asked for in helping restore this FBI. He brought critical reforms to make the organization more efficient, led the successful Summer Heat op, served as the people’s voice for transparency, and delivered major breakthroughs in long unsolved cases like the pipe bomb investigation. And that’s only a small part of the work he went about every single day delivering for America,” Patel said.
“He not only completed his mission – he far exceeded it. We will miss him but I’m thankful he accepted the call to serve. Our country is better and safer for it,” Patel added.

I was surprised when he was appointed in the first place - thought I’d misread his name.
He wasn’t qualified for the job.
Laws and regulations? Or evidence that was destroyed unlawfully by the FBI under the Biden regime?
It's lunacy to suggest that what happened at Butler was mere incompetence and a result of complicity or that the FBI didn't know who Thomas Crooks or Ryan Routh were before they tried to assassinate Trump.
We still have no answers to the extent the FBI was involved in orchestrating the J6 "riots".
His present job has been undermining his credibility in going back to job as podcaster. That was the biggest issue.
I certainly don’t know everything. For example, I have never heard of nor noticed a participant here with the handle “Ditto” who clearly has paid infinitely more attention to what I post than vice-versa.
So, now he's going to tell us what was being covered up about Butler, J6 and the J6 bomber on his podcast? But, he can't do that as the number two in command at the FBI?
Maybe. I have no idea what his thought pattern is.
Then pay more attention.
I know what happened at Butler was deliberate, through several acts of benign absence. If you gave each act a 10% chance of it happening, you would have greater odds of winning the Powerball twice in a row, than for Butler to have happened.
However, it’s a matter of proving it and laws and regulations can get in the way of that.
FRHaters don’t care.
All of whom have been trained to lie and kill expertly and without remorse.
I can't blame anyone who is as young as Bongino is, who says, "No, I would rather live than reform this den of vipers."
Lies. I do believe it.
FRH—Appropriate acronym.
Clueless as to what?
You gonna answer? Must be busy yapping like a chihuahua on other threads...
Erika Kirk needs to find a CEO to run the organization, actually someone like Stephen Miller (for the grassroots but he is a pretty decent orator) would be great at it even though Trump needs him in DC
