The Beer Hall Putch took place in Bavaria, and Hitler was gaining members and supporters there by harping on their secessionist aspirations, while keeping his pan-German agenda to himself and his close associates.
But seriously, Frederich Von Trumpf left Bavaria in the mid-19th Century, long before there was even such a thing as fascism, although he might well have been a fervent egotistical jerk.
