SAVANNAH, Ga. —
Savannah Mayor Van Johnson said Tuesday that investigators have identified and are interviewing a “person of interest” seen in a widely circulated image in connection with an acid attack that seriously injured a woman at Forsyth Park.
The attack Wednesday night sent Ashley Wasielewski to the Augusta Burn Center with severe injuries.
Johnson said the Savannah Police Department has been “working around the clock” on what he described as an ongoing assault investigation, interviewing dozens of people, reviewing evidence and tracking leads. He urged anyone who was in the park the night of the attack to come forward, saying even small details could help.
The mayor said the individual in the image — dubbed the “Bugs Bunny guy” because of a black hoodie with a Bugs Bunny image — has been identified and came in voluntarily. Johnson said the person is not detained and has not been designated a suspect.

The acid throwers in shows like the Untouchables struck me as one of the vilest lifeforms amongst the lowlife criminal class.
Agree, this can never be a crime of passion or committed in hot blood. It is pure evil with planning and intent. Once the identity is known the perp should have an unfortunate accident. Fatal one.

I'm going to guess greater than 50 arrests, with most of the charges dropped or reduced and various forms of "alternative sentencing" imposed.
