As Hollywood still grapples with the tragic murder of famed director Rob Reiner and his wife, more tragic news broke early Monday.
According to Deadline, actress Rachael Carpani’s family revealed that she had passed away “unexpectedly” at just 45.
Her family confirmed in an Instagram post that Carpani passed away following a battle with a “chronic illness.”
“It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December,” the late Sunday post read.
“The funeral will be a private event, to be held on Friday 19th December with close family and friends,” the Instagram post further noted.
It added: “The family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will be making no further statements.”
Carpani’s filmography includes the long-running “NCIS: Los Angeles” series, in which she appeared in 2009, IMDb reported.
In 2010, Carpani appeared in multiple episodes for the A&E network’s “The Glades” series, a show similar to NCIS in that it was a serialized crime drama.
While Rachael Carpani may not be a household name in the States, that was almost by design for the Australian actress.
Carpani’s most memorable role came in the Australian drama series “McLeod’s Daughters.”
The actress portrayed Jodi Fountain McLeod in 179 episodes from 2001-2009. Aaccording to Deadline, she didn’t want to be pigeonholed into one beloved role her entire career, so she moved to the United States to avoid being known as Jodi Fountain McLeod forever.

I remember one girl telling me if a guy in a certain section of town was too good looking to be true, he was probably gay. (40 years ago). Now days many women are so picky about what they want in looks in a partner, having many be gay really limits their candidates.
I never watched General Hospital, but I heard all about that, and somehow, that BS made sense to the writers. Made zero sense to me.
Smart lady. Rarely these days do people exercise the golden rule (Silence is golden). Never could understand the penchant for airing one’s dirty laundry.
the writers were normalizing rape in relationships to millions of people.
all things being spiritual at their root, the writers were promoting evil and millions followed along supporting the show for generations. Brainwashing just like Sesame Street and many kid shows, just the adult version, like so many other shows are.
Geary was totally creepy. I had a big-time crush on Dr. Noah Drake though. (Rick Springfield.)
Am I the only one who remembers Edith Bunker being raped on All in the Family? That totally traumatized me as a kid, but I’m the only one who seems to remember it.
I don’t remember All In The Family that well.
Every now and then I catch Archie Bunker’s Place on Roku.
She was slimmer when she played Tinkerbell.

Never watched any of the multiple NCIS series.
Ditto for adenomyosis.
Both are related to your period and an get better with pregnancy or hormones.
Hormones used to treat this do have emotional side effects...hormone blockers cause depression and danazol has testosterone side effects like weight gain
but hysterectomy cures it.
Me either. I don’t care for cop and lawyer shows, or medical dramas..............
Yeah, except we don’t know any specifics.
She was in ONE episode of NCIS. Good grief.
That Luke and Laura storyline was wild. I was in college, living in the dorms, when they got reunited. It was on a Friday, and kids were skipping classes to watch that episode. When Luke and Laura finally saw each other, I heard screams coming from the girls' dorms... and roars from the guys' dorms across the quad! I couldn't believe it, even the guys were watching. It was a thing.
Same difference. :)
RIP and prayers to her family.
ha! Wow that is funny, guys watching it as well. I don’t get it, what was the story about?
I looked it up, yeah Geary was living with a guy and they showed them kissing BLAAAH!
The Luke and Laura story was pretty dark, actually. It started off with him sexually assaulting her in a night club, and then somehow they end up in love and on the run from the mob, and then one of them is married to someone else, and then each of them thinks the other is dead at some point. I mean, they really put the soap in soap opera. I didn’t actually watch it, but all my roommates did, so I hung out that day for the big reunion. It was kind of fun, because everyone was so into it.
