Julianne Murray, has resigned as Acting US Attorney for the District of Delaware.

Murray was appointed as interim US Attorney in July – a 120-day appointment from US Attorney General Pam Bondi, which expired in November. When her interim term expired, Murray then was appointed “acting US Attorney” by Bondi, however there has been no approval by the US Senate Judiciary Committee. Murray, a Republican, said in a statement Friday that the ‘blue slip’ tradition in the US Senate and with 2 Democratic Delaware Senators who did not support her – she was never considered for US Attorney for the District of Delaware.

Delaware District Court Judge Colm Connolly has appointed Ben Wallace, who served as Murray’s First Assistant, to take over the position until the vacancy is filled. Connolly announced in September that the Court would establish its own selection process as the White House had not announced a nominee for the post.

Can’t these nominees be backdoored by getting them confirmed in strong red states and then moving them into impossible leftist districts?

Republicans are minority thinkers. They fight hard for “protections” for the minority like the filibuster and Blue slips because they are usually the minority.

Backwards thinking. Cowardly thinking. Using the actual Constitution, as a majority , would go far in keeping the majority.

The GOPe just don’t care.

They play silly games to keep the Senate always in session technically.

Trump supported Thune as Senate Majority Leader, which is a huge Trump mistake, (like Sessions as AG), but he’s waited too long now to correct his Senate mistake. Thune should have already killed the filibuster and the stupid blue card crap. Thune is a weak feckless wussy. Trump should have acted by now to destroy Thune’s career. I hope America and Trump doesn’t have huge regrets allowing the Senate and House to be lost to the Dems…

“The first year of Trump’s term is almost over, and they still aren’t confirming his nominees. And the Republicans actually expect to win at midterms...

This Congress has sat quietly and watch Trump look for executive orders, workarounds, temporary appointments, the Judicial Insurrection, etc. And they haven’t lifted a finger.”

The Senate Majority leader is elected by the Senators who caucus with majority, in this case 52 GOP Senators.

Of the 52, there are probably 30 who would vote to remove Trump if they were allowed a secret ballot. Trump basically has nothing to do with who the majority leader is.

It was a very serious error by Trump in 2017 to try to manage the congressional GOP rather than working to eliminate them.

...And how is that legal? District Courts can just announce they get to fill vacant positions?

Yeah, it’s legal. In the absence of an appointed USDA, the district court can fill the position.
