Fans have accused FIFA of a "monumental betrayal" after the latest ticket prices for the World Cup began circulating Thursday.
The governing body allocates 8% of tickets to national associations for games involving their team to sell to the most loyal fans.
And a list published by the German soccer federation revealed prices ranged from $180 to $700 for varying group stage games. The lowest price for the final was $4,185, and the highest was $8,680.

I budget $5 annually for boring events where players runs around constantly, but there is very little scoring.
So I guess I’m out of luck. I won’t be going to the World Cup finals this year.

I don’t think you are making an accurate comparison! The Super Bowl is one game! How many games is the World Cup? If you compare apples to apples, the WC is much more expensive.

Never said Superbowl. NFL fans, depending on location, spend anywhere between $50 to many thou$ands every week on game tickets. That doesn’t include gas, hot dogs, beer, tailgating necessities, trinkets and other invited guests. Fans can even purchase parking passes online. At least eight home games each year which doesn’t include playoffs. The World Cup is held every four years. Pffft. Plenty of time to save that loot.
El cheapo game - TB @ Carolina. $113 to $4500. Parking pass - $22 to $230.
They will be giving tickets away for Iran vs Egypt just to have any fans in the stadium.
Superbowl - $6,432 to $37,562. For now.

Funny they don’t complain about the cost of Tater Swuft or Superbowl Halftime Gay Bunny show tickets.
The issue’s not any country or region. It is the global elite vs. the rest of the world.
Too rich for my blood & I doubt I would even find it interesting.
