Definitely! I have a N100 mask that has an exit hole for my exhales. It does not go back through the filter.

I can vouch for that. Your statement reminds me of when we had lunch with another couple. The sun coming through the window made very obvious the droplets of spit coming out of the lady’s mouth sitting across from me. I wanted to puke, as it appeared it was landing on my food.
Another incident was at one of those all you can eat joints where gobs of food are out in the open so you can load your plate. There was this old lady and a small boy going down the line and the little boy was coughing in the direction of the food without covering his mouth. Grandma did nothing to correct him. A few days later I had a nasty case of bronchitis.

A N95 mask is about as effective at stopping viruses as a chain link fence is at stopping mosquitoes.

They work to keep body particles — such as snot, skin cells, and hairs — out of open wounds; but most of aren’t surgeons hovering over open wounds.
Thought they would likely have known (and maybe even admit) that these masks don’t really accomplish much except maybe disguising one’s identity.
IIRC, the answer was no. They didn’t see a significant difference.
They can also be used to fool stupid people who think they actually protect against diseases....and should be smarter after the first COVID go-arounnd.

No reputable study has shown these masks, especially the cheap paper masks or those cloth face rags, prevent of limit the spread of COVID. Masks are a talisman no more effective than than magic ju-ju beads, scarabs or acifidity bags.
