James Talarico, Texas state representative and Senate primary rival, said in a statement emailed to Newsweek Monday: "We’re building a movement in Texas—fueled by record-breaking grassroots fundraising and 10,000 volunteers who are putting in the work to defeat the billionaire megadonors and puppet politicians who have taken over our state. Our movement is rooted in unity over division—so we welcome Congresswoman Crockett into this race."

Overall, polling remains tight for both Crockett and Talarico regardless of who the Republican rival ends up being, but a rundown from Real Clear Polling showed the GOP still winning, regardless of the nominee, by anywhere between 1 and 6 points on election day next November.

Anyone but Jasmine Crockett.
Please don't...
(OTOH this uh, Talarico, yeah that's it, this Talarico dude... He's been paying attention to a contiguous state to the north and how one of THEIR senators climbed the ladder and is staying there, at least for now... I saw it right off in the picture.)
Weird how he resembles Charlie Kirk.
No, he resembles James Lankford, R-OK. OOPS.
Doesn’t Lankford have red hair?
“I'm trying to wipe the smile off my face. I would say it's a gift.

He doesn’t, really. He’s another fake Christian that the Democrats will now present as their version of a fake Charlie Kirk. It’s a gimmick. Typical of the leftist Democrat Party.

But take it from one who is familiar with Lankford and the way that he rolls.
This guy will appeal to Texas' overall Christianity, being as "kinda pro-life" as the party will allow, as "kinda pro-2A" as the party will allow - oh yeah, he'll be out shooting ducks with an over-under just like Bill Clinton - and as pro-illegal immigration as the sensibilities of Texas will allow, all three of which will be a smokescreen.
He'll also have no big problem with Muslims targeting Texas as the next state to take over like Michigan. (Although, to be fair about it, Lankford has never been in that position on that issue, so to project that onto him relies on an expectation to find it in his character... see how predictable he is?)
So, expect him, Talarico, to strike a conciliatory tone on that issue as well, exploiting the bleep out of Texans' general sense of Christianity for his own gain.
James Lankford Jr, from where I sit, and no others.
Upcoming Texas Senate Poll with Jasmine Crockett:
A pile of diseased dung vs. Jasmine Crockett
🔴 A pile of dung 92% (+84)
🔵 Jasmine Crockett: 8%
VOILA!!!
Lankford the second!!
Yeah.... seems like that ginger pulled some BS recently... just another RINO. What is it with the south’s inordinate number of RINO’s?
Hard to believe there are people who would eagerly vote for her. Some just because she has a D after her name. Only property owners and tax payers should be permitted to vote.
He resembles Richie Cunningham. His veneer of Christianity is laughable.

Funny you said that, cause I was thinking similarly in terms of Opie (a younger Ron Howard)... but yeah, same country-fied look.
As for his “veneer of Christianity”... it’s the same veneer all the Democrats have. Elaine said it best...”fake, fake, fake, fake”.
The rats will present him as a “moderate Democrat of faith”. There ain’t no such thing, of course. But that never stops them from trying to fool We, the People.
Just checked Geni Surnmaes and, as I suspected, Talarico is an Italian surname. Geni even has James Talarico in its list of profiles and says he is a Presbyterian seminarian. Presbyterianism is probably not something he inherited from Italian ancestors.
(There are only about 8 Senate seats which have even a slightly decent chance of flipping as things stand now -- wishful thinkers on both sides notwithstanding -- and Texas ranks 7th of the 8).

"Talarico describes himself as a deeply religious Christian, but is a phony who spouts that "Jesus-was-a-liberal" bullshit a la the self-righteous "He Gets Us" television ad campaign, which you may have seen. Picture Talarico as a combination of Bernie Sanders and Jimmy Swaggart (apologies to Swaggart). Talarico the "True Christian" adamantly opposed displaying the Ten Commandments in Texas schools, preferring that those institutions remain atheistic and free from anything which might accidentally encourage good moral values. He represents an ultra-liberal (D+26) Austin district in the state House, so Talarico's views are surely considered to be mainstream by his constituents but most of the rest of the state of Texas would disagree. Talarico is a one-trick pony, wearing his version of far-left Christianity on his sleeve at all times and using it to explain all of his immoral, pro-abortion, pro-crime and other radical votes in the legislature. He surely believes he can "out-liberal" and "out-hate" Crockett and Allred, but he's got his work cut out for him in those departments."
This is probably an oversimplification, but appealing to, or one could say exploiting people’s Christianity in their own favor would have something to do with it.
LOL!!!
I'm gonna LOL ALL DAY from that one!!
