Isn’t that a convenient rescue device...since nobody will be allowed to prove their contention, the “researchers” can say whatever they want and cannot be refuted.

I don't think you understood what I just told you. As it is, the methods for detecting the underground structures are considered fairly sound. It is up to the Egyptians to allow exploration of those structures.

But what were these vertical shafts for? So much work for what?

I cross-checked this as the daily mail is sensationalist and you need to double check - and this is balderdash.

A fact-check by AFP in April 2025 concluded the assertions are fabricated, citing multiple experts who argue the radar technology cannot penetrate or image structures at such depths—SAR is limited to surface-level analysis and attenuates quickly in soil. Egyptologist Jean-Guillaume Olette-Pelletier emphasized there's no archaeological evidence for deep underground networks under the plateau, while radar specialist Lawrence Conyers confirmed the method's impossibility for detecting features hundreds of meters down. Hawass himself reiterated in multiple statements that no such radar work occurred inside the pyramids, no missions are active there, and the claims lack scientific backing.

Scientists rubbish claims of 'giant structures' underneath Egyptian pyramids

What discoveries????

And there isn’t any evidence of these structures even under the pyramids and definitely not in Peru.

in Turkey or rather eastern Turkey, near the place where wheat originated, we have Gobekli Tepe, but no great megalithic structures like the Ancient aliens theorists propose. Gobekli Tepes is dated to approximately 9,500 BCE (about 11,500 years ago), with construction spanning into the 8th millennium BCE. It’s a ceremonial site with circular enclosures and T-shaped limestone pillars, built during the Pre-Pottery Neolithic period. While it predates known agriculture and settled civilizations, it’s slightly later than the 12,000 BCE mark and shows no direct links to sites elsewhere.

In Peru, the oldest megalithic structure —> Callacpuma (a circular stone plaza in the Cajamarca Basin) dates to around 2,750 BC — not 12,000 BC

In egypt, the oldest structures are Nabta Playa in the Western Desert, with stone alignments and cattle burials from around 7,000–6,000 BC.

While Göbekli Tepe is genuinely ancient and revolutionary (proving complex societies existed before farming), there’s no evidence for similar structures in Peru or Egypt at that time.

The Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis (YDIH), which posits a comet airburst or impact ~12,900 years ago caused global cooling, floods from melting ice sheets, megafauna extinctions, and the collapse of early human societies is widely rejected by geologists, climatologists, and archaeologists.. WHY?

1. Proposed evidence (e.g., nanodiamonds, microspherules, iridium layers) is inconsistent, non-reproducible, and explainable by terrestrial processes like wildfires, volcanism, or contamination.

2., No impact craters from that period; dates of supposed markers vary widely (14,000–10,000 years ago)

3. Megafauna extinctions were asynchronous (e.g., North America ~13,000 years ago, South America later) and better explained by human overhunting and climate change.

If such a society existed, traces like tools, metals, writings, or widespread debris would remain—none have been found despite extensive searches. Göbekli Tepe’s builders survived into later periods, with no evidence of flood destruction.

These claims you cite rely on “arguments from ignorance” (e.g., can’t explain it, so aliens/comets”)

fr_freak, while you’re right that the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (formerly the Supreme Council) tightly regulates digs to protect these sites—permits are required for all fieldwork, with detailed rules for both local and foreign teams, including background checks, project outlines, and artifact handling protocols. But they’re not shutting down legit research; they actively collaborate on it.

Take the ScanPyramids project—it’s an international effort with teams from Egypt, Germany, France, and more, using non-invasive tech like muography and radar to scan without damaging anything. Just last month (November 2025), they announced air-filled cavities in the Menkaure Pyramid that might indicate a second entrance, all cleared and hyped by Egyptian officials. Earlier this year, they revealed a 30-foot hidden corridor in the Great Pyramid, announced by Zahi Hawass himself alongside the tourism minister.

The idea that they’re blocking stuff to hide a “pre-Pharaoh civilization” building the pyramids or Sphinx? That’s more conspiracy than reality—no solid archaeological evidence supports that. The pyramids date squarely to the Old Kingdom (around 2600–2500 BCE) based on inscriptions, worker villages, and carbon dating. As for those “underground structures” detected by satellite radar, experts have called them out as pseudoscience; the tech can’t penetrate that deep or image like claimed, and there’s zero follow-up excavation because the data doesn’t hold up.

If the methods were as sound as you say, why hasn’t any peer-reviewed journal backed them, and why do radar specialists say it’s impossible?

Bottom line: Exploration is happening, but it’s methodical and evidence-based, not wildcat digging. If there’s something real down there, the Egyptians are the ones leading the charge to uncover it—tourism boost and all.

This was and still is complete and utter nonsense.

It's the Daily Mail, the Moab of the investigative reporting world.

I'm just following the storyline as it goes, dumpster diving into the hot sheets.

Typically what I post (i.e. my own work) is perceived by some, many, or perhaps all as complete and utter nonsense, so it could always be worse!

I recall from my high school days illustrations of slaves pulling these large stone blocks over the sand on log rollers.

It can be done with 2 ton stones up a wetted 20 degreee incline. But fails with 20 tons or more as the weight crushes the logs.

Using the claimed technology, there is no way for instruments designed for a different purpose to get the claimed data, and beyond impossible to come up with images like the one shown from the raw data.

(TL DR: "Your Surprise is Waiting")

Ancient technologies are full of mysteries... It raises all kinds of questions.

This is exactly why I am interested in these types of subjects, along with the range of comments, reactions, and opinions that they generate.

I glean much material from what pours in freely from all directions. Simple data points or remarks often link to ideas and concepts unrelated to the topic at hand, but hey there's something excellent from left field. Great, another trailhead!

For an example of how this works (it's not for the rigid of mind), here's what Sacajaweau wrote:

"I’ve always said the interior is built like a honeycomb."

Now, I've had the following page open for over a week, maybe two, so I wouldn't forget to go back to it (formatted as-is, the bold indicating what's in the original language quote):

With regard to the manna, it is written “bread” (Exodus 16:4), and it is written “oil” (Numbers 11:8), and it is written “honey” (Exodus 16:31). How can we reconcile these verses? Rabbi Yosei, son of Rabbi Ḥanina, said: For the youth it was like bread, for the elderly it was like oil, and for the children it was like honey. Each received what was appropriate.

https://www.sefaria.org/Yoma.75b.5?lang=bi

Wanting to get back to it, because it had reminded me of (specific place in bold)...

Luke 24

38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

(Each received what was appropriate.)

"I’ve always said the interior is built like a honeycomb."

And there it was yet again,

the little chambers filled by busy little worker bees. And thus it connects (Thanks Sacajaweau!) to my post 26, about how "Khufu" indeed built the Great Pyramid, but something got lost in translation.

(After all, those "ancient Egyptians" were big into the Sun 🔴.)

ingenuity -- it bursts right onto the scene, definitely the anti-Establishment type.

工夫
Kufū

Noun
device, scheme, laborer, worker

IT GOES ON:

Ancient technologies are full of mysteries. One that got me was the “Horizontal ‘I’” connectors that held giant stone blocks together. Or really, the molten metal poured into the “I” slots carved in the rock.

工夫

time and effort taken to perform a task; work
skills attained after taking the time and effort;
skilfulness; expertise; workmanship
work; labour; job; task...

工夫

The individual characters are further linked, so anyone who is interested can see what they mean and how they link up.

The manna depends on one's resolve, the willingness to check out different angles, perspectives. Intellectual curiosity -- it's an art and a science for the win, for the kid at heart. All kinds of recipes -- never boring.

Superman is always taking notes. It's his day job.

This methodology is ingrained with quirky contexts and curiosities that serve to make the memories happen without effort, like not having to try to remember someone's birthday because it falls on Christmas or whatever.

It's truly amazing how simple observations and natural memory feed off of each other and integrate for the huge knowledge build, built upon a rock-solid foundation.

IOW, how to construct massive pyramids with blocks that drop down from the sky and magically float right into place with perfect alignment, no adhesives required.

Or how to build a Temple without making a peep.

Like how Santa operates.

And it's like how Art Weingartner lamented that his wife was lamenting how "the crows are too big for the birdfeeder", so she was all over his back to get rid of them --

the word out there is that Ezekiel's Temple is "too big for the Temple Mount."

Right at the beginning: The Burbs 1989 - Food

See? Whatever works (work smart, not hard). Accept no substitutes.

"Hidden mega-structures beneath Egypt"

Build Back Better! Thanks, Daily Mail!

There are thousands of links with videos of megastructures with humongeous stones and the evidence is irrefutable.

Yup, the Daily Mail, sometimes referred to as the Daily Fail. The same opportunist who made the claim in the first place has 'confirmed' that it's true.

At least they put ‘confirmed’ in quotes.

If DM thought to do that, the info must be sketchy indeed.

This one seems tenuous. "...a colossal underground complex plunging nearly 3,500 feet beneath Egypt's Giza Plateau...."

I checked with Dr. Fay Knust and the eminent researcher, Beau Guss, who will be appearing on Al Chemy's latest podcast last month, who will be saying that "leaves" from the "little doubt tree" have been shown to be from Atlantis. Or you can have what's behind Curtain Number Two:

Each shaft has a central column wrapped in perfect helical coils and terminates more than 3,500 feet below the plateau in 260 × 260 × 260-foot cubic chambers, larger than most modern sports arenas.

Gotta go. Someone came by with my new coiled Helicle.

Watched Josh Gates on the pyramids. They used ground penetrating radar and found nothing below the pyramid. Josh and an archaeologist cut out a stone from a quarry used by the pyramid builders and moved it up a sand ramp very quickly. They didn’t use rollers which would sink into sand but boards on edge lubricated with water. Really interesting show. The Egyptian department of antiquities granted them a lot of latitude. It was fascinating. There do appear to be unexcavated voids in the pyramid structure located with GPR .
