“Woke management has been trying to de-ball this entire segment of motor cars since the ‘70s’.”
No kidding. If my memory is correct, that once great little Mustang of the 60’s was reengineered into a Euro-trash wanna be with a little 4 cyl German designed engine.
I pay attention to restored cars. There’s quite a few of the pre-1974 Mustangs out there. I’ve never seen one of those crappy looking ones with the 4 cyl engine.
My first new car was a 1979 Ford Fairmont, stripped down. $3688.00.
Looked up what that translates to today:
$3,688 in 1979 is worth $16,457.62 today.
Interestingly, my new 1986 Ford Thunderbird Elan (loaded out) was just about $16,500.00 at the time. Looked that up, too.
$16,500 in 1986 is worth $48,773.76 today
FINS!
Small, but fins nonetheless.
That 442 is ... wow...

My sympathies. There wasn’t much available in 1979.
There wasn’t much available in 1979.
Still isn’t Detroit turned it’s design departments over to AI.
Out of army I bought my first new car, 70 RS 350. Cost with tax was circa 3500. It is a sacrilege to put that label on a POS EV.
The problem is CAFE created this mess in the first place. Had Pelosi’s CAFE not been passed in 2007, we would have seen a Camaro with Impala sports sedan.
Looks like a 4 door Hot Wheels car.
So someone gave them a list of 100 ideas, and they picked the worst one.
Whhhyyy? Just make a 6 spd V8.
Who are these dummies designing cars? Even the color combos on some are horrendous
This is a story about a car that is not introduced and may not be. Or it may come and be nothing like what they are proposing. So why is this a story at all.
For example, I saw this EV, which if I were rich, might be something I would spend money on to take out for Sunday drives, it is so sexy:

Now THAT is an EV worth owning! (I believe it was about $200Km and had a 200 mile range last I checked. I would still buy it-the torque must be awesome...:)
Poor Old Nagger Thinks Its A Cadillac....
Where’s John DeLorean when we need him?
Looks like a Toyota Honda clone...
I’m sure the Camaro demographic will love this, and we’ll soon see these in trailer parks throughout the US! More corporate stupidity. The Chevy CEO must have been in a confab with the Cracker Barrel CEO, because it’s obvious she didn’t ask Porsche about their EV sales numbers.
