Had forgotten about “virtual reality”.
Actual reality since the 2021 rebrand has been more entertaining and compelling than anything “virtual” could have been.
It makes sense that the business community is moving on from VR as a potential profit center.
VR is just too awkward a technology right now.
Until materials can be made much lighter, and power much more dense, handhelds and goggles will always be niche.
I look at a VR headset and my neck just says 15 minutes or I will make you will regret anything longer.
Back around 2021 I recommended an investment to a friend based on my belief that “VR is going to be the future”. Fortunately for my friend, that recommendation was NVIDIA. His investment has grown 10x since that night, although of course it had little to do with VR.
Is “Meta” another word for headache?
