Here’s the gist:

The grandfather was found holding a baseball bat. He was trying to protect the infant from the dogs.

The grandmother and “six other children” were not home at the time.

The family claims they tried repeatedly to get animal control or a shelter to take the dogs.

(I don’t know how they ended up with 7 Pit Bulls in the first place, but there’s the rest of the story.)

Baseball bat? Even a .22 would have been better. Dogs have very sensitive hearing. A bullet discharge, especially in a confined space, even if it misses, will likely spook a dog, because it’s so loud, the critter feels physical pain through its eardrums.

If they had enough money to feed a pack of 7 big dogs they should have enough money to have them euthanized.
