Portland jury clears black man of assault because white man he stabbed had said the n-word

A black man was acquitted of stabbing a white man in Oregon after he claimed the attack was self-defense because the victim called him a racial slur.

Gary Edwards, 43, was charged with second-degree assault for stabbing a man in Portland near a light rail stop on July 8, KPTV reported.

However, he was found not guilty of the crime on October 31 after the jury learned the victim was using racial slurs in the aftermath of the altercation.

So if a black individual says “Honkey” I get to stab him? I doubt it!

Using outdated words like negro, oriental, Indian, Eskimo - is not racism - at most it’s considered offensive language - by some oversensitive people.

Calling that ‘racism’ makes you no different than the woke Leftists who consider ‘misgendering’ a type of violence.

Our parents had it right when they reminded us that “sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me”.

Your attempt to ban certain words is an attack on freedom of speech - not a good look here on FREE Republic.

I have an experiment for you. Can you go to a Wal-Mart and use that term? No because like I said that it is an outdated word that is no longer in use in our language.

Why are we encouraged to say ‘person of color’, yet we are racists if we say ‘colored person’? Who is making up these rules?

Will you comply with whatever the woke thought police tell you to do?
Will you stop using the pronouns ‘he’ and ‘she’ when they say it’s offensive?

These woke speech rules are beyond absurd and you are on the wrong side of this issue my FRiend.
