I am thankful that I don’t live there. The bad thing is this stuff chases New York residents (and their terrible voting habits) into the state where I live.

NY may be one of the worst, but the eco nazi craps is increasing electricity rates across the board.

Just like high gasoline and diesel prices make everything more expensive, so does high electricity.

At least gas goes up and down w/some market forces. Electric less so.

Just think of all those grocery stores running their freezers and refrigerators all day. They’re not run off spinning hamster wheels.

The phrase "building and vehicle electrification" has got to be one of the dumbest phrases for a northern climate. And I'm quite happy with my all-electric house and doing most of my driving in an EV (in my southern climate, and with mine and my wife's use case on our home energy consumption habits and our driving habits). To think that it works as well for everybody else, especially in a colder climate, is insane.

My problem is not just the left's dumb ideas. It's how they always shove it as a one-size-fits-all mantra that they know is a lie.

“whether there is enough electricity getting generated to enable the buildings and vehicles to get electrified”

That is the major question.

The State of New York tends to be cloudy because of Great Lakes moisture. The northern latitudes of the State make solar cells inefficient for making electricity for heating.

The wind in the Atlantic is highly variable in terms of speed and location.

The State of New York has shut down two nuclear reactors. The cost of doing so making conversion to heat pumps likely to be economically unattractive.

The State of New York is hoping to get Quebec hydropower, but there is no US/Canadian treaty to guarantee that supply.

And, of course, Canada could renege on the treaty.
