I am thankful that I don’t live there. The bad thing is this stuff chases New York residents (and their terrible voting habits) into the state where I live.
Then you have some large NYC apartment complexes built before the 1960s where each resident does not get an electric bill because the buildings were never wired for having meters for each apartment, so the rent is with utilities included. And if the unit is under rent control or rent stabilization the large complex landlord may not get the cost of the Con Ed rate increases in what lease rate increases the rent control board approves.
