I LOVE the coat - how else are you gonna show off genuine leather (like buttah!) gloves like that? ;)
My favorite coat is a ‘Swing Coat’ that was my Mother’s. Grey and black wool tweed with a zillion tiny ‘diamonds’ sprinkled all over it.
I have never found another that looks like it - anywhere. The sleeves are short on this style too, to show off pretty gloves. Very 1950’s.
Designer Nina Ricci made it popular.
Oh yes.
Such a contrast to some previous First Laddies. (oops! Some typos shall remain stet, as they have a new layer of meaning. LOL)
‘First Laddies.’ LOL!
Seriously...it started out as a typo, but I let it stand. :-)
LOLOL ...
Who was the first First LADDIE?
I had a coat like that in the early 60’s. It was a knock of a Jackie Kennedy coat.

I know of whom you speak.
Wide Laddie.
Very nice that you still wear that darling sounding coat!
You’re right! Melania is 5’-11” tall. She’s very tall to start with. I don’t think she’s wearing 10” heels (do they even make such a thing?). Maybe 4” spikes. But 5-11 + 0-04 = 6’-3” and he is much taller than her. He must be 6-6.
I remember having such a coat, as well, but I recall an undersleeve also. And the sleeve was not so wide like this.
Oh, well, Melania stopped listening to my fashion advice a long time ago. π
βΊοΈ. Those are some beautiful gloves, for sure.
Yeah, I’m about HALF her height, so I’m pretty sure Melania and I would never be caught in the same outfit at the same time, LOL!
And those heels? Yeah. My ‘Army Boot Bunion’ couldn’t deal with that!

Decades ago, while I was still somewhat nimble, I wore spiked heels, but I don’t think I could have walked on grassy surfaces the way she does. I would have been tripping all over the place or sinking my heels into the ground. Don’t know how she does that....
