We dodged a bullet.
I only heard LSU and Florida were in the running.
I think a lot of it was just Gator fans wanting Kiffin and Stricklin playing along, although I’ve known for a long time he never wanted Kiffin.
Part of me thinks, once it appeared LSU was in the running after Kelly’s firing, UF played along to up the price LSU was going to pay for him.

I like how the article leaves out the little fact that kiffen is taking almost ALL the assistant coaches with him.......that may have a little to do with why they want to sever ties with this guy asap.
My personal opinion.....kiffin is an opportunistic jerk.
He has accomplished one thing already however.....it gives me a great reason to hope he fails.

chip kelly is a yankee.....that alone told me he wouldn’t be accepted at LSU for very long........guess who else is a northerner?.......be ashame if he has a rough season or two and them cajuns turn on him.

The bigger news for Florida is we hired a GM. And that is the trend in College Football.
Schools are tired of paying outrageous salaries for head coaches. So they are running the programs more like an NFL Franchise, where the coaches don’t matter as much.
That’s basically what Ohio State has been doing for awhile. They are winning those championships because of Ryan Day, they are winning them because they’ve got a top-notch football operation.
SEC schools sure love former USC trojan coaches.
