At this point I would not be surprised if both Denmark and India had more cows than people (as used to be said of Vermont).

My thoughts as well, I've bought those cookies for years and never thought of it as a "Latino" thing.
KnockOff brands may well be made in India, I know that fake looking tins of OG cookies that look like the Royal Dansk original ones are made in Malaysia. So having false ones made in india is quite possible.
Look at what you are buying.

I think it just means that they’re markedly popular among Latino people - as well as in Hong Kong/China. They’re sold all over the world.

Exactly, it was not just in Latino households that this heartbreak happened.
Not Denmark. They are putting an additive in cattle feed to cut down on the methane caused by cow farts. It works great with one small hitch. It kills the cows.
